Alright ladies, I have a personal question. I'm used to simply manicuring myself down there and have never gotten waxed before. I'd like to do so before my big day! So how soon after getting waxed should I have sex? How long do they usually last? Trying to time it just right before I hop on a plane for our destination wedding. :)

I used Philosophy's The Micodelivery peel followed by Boscia's Lumizining Black mask this morning while I was doing dishes and folding laundry before work, and then just threw on a little mascara and lip balm. Everyone at the office is commenting on how awake and glowing I look! Which is awesome because I slept about 4 hours last night (insomnia + a good book does that to me).

What are your last-minute beauty treatments that just work wonders?

Oil Cleansing Method Questions!

I saw some people mention the Oil Cleansing Method on here, and I had never heard of it. I've done some research on it, and I want to try it! I went to GNC and they have jojoba oil (which I saw is recommended for oily skin) and I will be looking somewhere for Pressed Castor Oil. I didn't see any Castor Oil at Walmart, but I heard I should be getting Pressed anyway.

How do I go about mixing it, and how much should I use of each. I was getting different numbers from different sites. Also, how often is it recommended that I use it, and when (morning vs night)? What do I do on the days I am not using it? Any other advice or recommendations?

Airbrush makeup vs the good old fashioned stuff?

Hey everyone,

I've never had airbrush makeup done but I've saw several people say on here that for a wedding it is the way to go.

What are the differences in airbrush and traditional makeup?

I want something that doesn't look too terribly fake (cakey) but that will stay put all day and half the night (we are starting our "photo tour" at 1pm, getting married at sunset and then the reception following so it will be a long day). The makeup artist I'm hiring does both but I thought I'd ask you guys for "the truth" before I decided on anything.

My face tends to get a little greasy and shiny after a while, I usually use an oil mattifier under my makeup, don't know if this matters with airbrush makeup or not.

So any advice/suggestions/details anyone wants to share will be greatly appreciated.

i bought my dress after trying on 30-40 gowns at all different shops. since then i have been worried that i might have made a mistake. I didnt have the emotion filled moment, with all of the tears of joy and revelation that this was MY dress. I know my fiancee will think im perfect no mater what im wearing, but i still find myself looking at/for the perfect gown. my mom paid for the dress, and doesnt have the money to waste, but i am only doing this once, and want it to be perfect of course...pleasse help!! driving myself crazy!

Bride to pay for Bridesmaids hair and nails?

My parent's are paying for my whole wedding. That being said, they will also be paying for my hair/makeup/nails for the big day. I was wondering if, in this situation, my parents should be picking up the bill for all of the bridesmaids hair/makeup/nails, as well. I don't want to add unecessary expense but also don't want to come across as "cheap" if this is something the bride/family should be paying for. Any advice?

I just had my first ever airbrush tan as a trial run for e-pics. I went to a very reputable spa at a dermatology clinic, so I do not feel that there is any fault on the part of the technician. She was very knowledgeable and sprayed me very lightly because she noticed how pale I was, and it looked good when I left. When I woke up this morning however, I looked very orange and unatural. After I took a shower, some areas seemed to fade a bit more than others, so now, I look orange AND uneven(not to mention I smell weird). I have tried several gradual tanners and they all seem to have the same effect on me. I have no interest to ever do this again.. so do I just settle for being super pale or is there any other method? I have used bronzing powder\makeup on myself before and it looked good. However, it did rub off on my clothes and I don't want that to happen to my dress!

Has anyone heard anything about Laura Mercier through Nordstroms Bridal for wedding day makeup? I have searched for reviews but haven't really found anything. Originally, I wanted to go through MAC but they could not set up a time early enough for me. The bridal consultants at Nordstroms said that a Laura Mercier artist would go on location for the big day and provide a test run free of charge. I am just looking to see if anyone has actually had that experience...

I've been looking for makeup artists in the dc area, and it seems like you can't find anyone for less than 200 bucks! and thats just for the day of for the bride, doesn't count the bridal party or any of the trials.

Has anyone done their own makeup, or had a friend to airbrush makeup? I'm considering investing in an airbrush makeup kit and having a friend learn how to use it and do the bridal party's makeup.

I bought this a couple of days ago after having my first microdermabrasion. I think it is usually $225 but I paid $150 for it since it was on groupon. I read really good reviews on it so had to try it. Anyone have any experience with it?

Also, I have very sensitive skin. Can anyone suggest a good, natural moisturizer for after a microdermabrasion? I use Aveeno Clear Complexion with salycic acid and I can't use that after doing a microdermabrasion. Thanks for any suggestions!

If anyone here is hiring a makeup artist and/or hair stylist for your wedding day, how many did you set up a trial with?

I thought this would be something I could wait to figure out (say 3-4 mos before the wedding) but 8 months out I've contacted 8 make up artists and all but 2 are already booked!

So I guess my question is do I bother going to trials with both or just book the first one I go to as long as the trial run goes well? Any tips/tricks/advice with this aspect of wedding planning is greatly appreciated in!

Dark circles/Concealer

I have always had dark circles under my eyes and (of course) they get worse when I'm tired. I can never completely cover them - concealer just lightens them A LITTLE. I really dislike this about myself, but generally I have learned to live with it. I really don't want dark circles on my wedding day, though. My mom's advice was to sleep lol, but that's not always an option. I'm sure I will have a hard time getting my mind to shut down the night before my wedding to be able to sleep. So...do any of you know of any products that work to lessen them? Or at least a good concealer that's not expensive?

My wedding is 9-23-12. I hate shaving and sometimes get ingrown hairs on my legs. I want to get my legs professionally waxed before the wedding so they're extra smooth and so I don't have to shave during the honeymoon! Eyebrow Threading vs. Waxing

I usually get my eyebrows waxed every once in awhile and was thinking about started to thread. I usually have to pluck every day because I have little hairs that grow at different rates. I like waxing because I grow them out and they get rid of everything. The only thing I don't like about waxing is I sometimes breakout because the area that gets waxed becomes super oily. For those of you who have done threading before, is threading the same as plucking or is it more like waxing?

Hey there

I need someone's input. I met up with an old roommate for brunch yesterday. She's never been a very open person, and she's kinda hard to get along with. I find myself questioning why I'm friends with her in the first place... ALOT. I just moved away from my hometown in Dec. and haven't seen her since we both moved out of our apartment. she happened to be in my new city yesterday, so we met up for brunch.
we chit-chatted a bit, and I found I making all the effort in the conversation. I don't know if she even wanted to be there. I just tried to keep it light. I mentioned that I think I found my wedding dress yesterday as I was shopping with my other friends (who drove 100 miles to visit me - she is not friends with them). I already tried the dress on a few weeks ago and need some input so the girls drove to Seattle to help me pick a dress. When I tried the dress on a few weeks ago, the sales assistant snapped a photo of me in it, albeit not a very good photo of me, but its purpose was so I could show the dress to out of town friends and family. I pulled out my phone to show my old roommate at lunch as I described the dress.
Her verdict: You look really akward. But the dress it cute though.

Ouch. I am being to sensitive to think that is a BITCHY, catty thing to say. Isn't the bride supposed to be told she is beautiful. It wasn't even a direct critisim of the dress (like, its not that flattering, or I don't think its the best shape for you - which I could definately handle and accept). I Just felt like it was something said that was unnecessary...

My friends who saw the dress in person loved it, and talked me into buying it. but then next day, and today (2 days after) I'm having second thoughts because of the old roommates remarks.
I want to be gorgeous and glowing and beautiful on my wedding day! Help!

I'm 5'7", my fiance is 5'10" (so he SAYS), and I'm in no mood to be wearing heels all day. I don't wear them EVER anyway, and I want to keep things true to how we are in Real Life and whatnot.

So. This leaves me with flip-flops (outside ceremony, likely, indoor reception). I'd like 'em to be red. If they have to be white, then, ok.

Any ideas? I don't care if I wear flip-flops, but I think my mom will.

I had my hair and makeup trial today, but things were so crazy beforehand (FI's car broke down on the way to our cake tasting earlier, it had to be towed, leaving us stranded 150 miles from home, mechanic can't look at it till Monday...) I didn't have any cash on me to tip her! She was super nice, came in when the salon was closed, did a great job so I feel terrible. I'm mailing her our contract next week, should I include a tip on there with just a little thanks note so she knows what it's for? She doesn't charge for trials, my day of is only $100, and there was no deposit. If I do mail her a tip, how much? Or should I just tip extra good on my wedding day?
