I have adult acne and, at 34, I'm worried I'm not going to feel beautiful on the big day. My skin tone is dark. I spoke with her in-depth about her experience working with darker skin tones and she assured me she had foundation for every skin tone. I requested a very natural look with nude matte lips, matte foundation, and angelic eyes. Her first attempted she put black eyeliner on me, gold eye shadow, and bright ruby cheeks. I advised her it was too dramatic and looked like I had a ton of makeup on and that I wanted more of a subtle look. She didn't take the black off but instead added plum eye shadow. She did not blend my eye makeup very well. I showed her pictures of me with more natural makeup and she said "If you like that look you should do it yourself." Didn't seem like she cared whether or not she gained my business. I had my photographer take pictures of me after she completed my makeup and it was not stunning as any bride would want to look. I decided not to go with her because she didn't have foundation to match my skin, didn't blend my eye shadow, did not use or have natural colors, her makeup techniques are basic (not at all as displayed on her website. She didn't contour my foundation, use primer, curl my lashes, etc.)
I tipped her an extra $5 out of courtesy but her skill level is not worth her prices. For her work she should charge $10 for a trial not $50 and $30 for onsite bridal service and not $200. Her work is amateur at best.

Okay, I'm not even sure I just spelled that right- is it make-up, makeup, or make up?? Whatever it is, I don't wear the stuff. Not even a little. The biggest thing I do is a little chapstick when it's cold out- and it's not tinted or anything. As far as my own personal preferences go, I know for sure that I would love to go without it on the big day too.

But I recently read that going without can mean uneven skin tone in pictures, etc. And I guess what I wanted to know is whether there's much truth to that. Obviously I don't want my pictures to come out bad. And obviously, even with the touch-up from professional photography, I'm not going to look like a model. But I also like to think I won't be asking the guy to perform miracles here- I mean, all the guys seem to look fine in personal wedding pictures and they're usually not wearing make-up, right?

It's weird, getting my hair professionally done is a non-issue but likewise, I never put any product in my hair beyond shampoo and conditioner. I don't even blowdry it and it goes to the middle of my back. But because I get my haircut professionally, I feel comfortable with what will be done to my hair. But the idea of using all those little tubes and compacts and pencils and brushes and whatever else is in that aisle of the pharmacy I never go down is utterly overwhelming.

hey ladies I need some winter skin help. I lived in ft lauderdale/Miami my whole life and I never had any problems with my skin other than the occasional dry day. This summer I moved to ny and now that cold weather has come in my skin is not happy with me. I feel like it's red and blotchy looking, it feels so dry all the time even though I have upped my water intake to about 10 glasses a day and use my normal Mary Kay creams at night and lighter mostureizer during the day. I also have like 4-5 pimples which is weird for me, I never has any even when I was a teenager. Does anyone change their skin routine for the winter and if so what do you use? I am also vegan so the products I use are a little limited. Thanks!

Hey guys. I have suffered my whole life with extremely dry skin. So dry that if I dont put on some kind of lotion after I shower/wash my skin gets so painful, not to mention ugly. It's horrible because I've tried almost every product out there and nothing really helps. Esp. my face. I have horrible post acne scars, and the fact that my face is so dry every time I try to wear make up it flakes, and looks AWFUL! I am so afraid of how my face is gonna look on my wedding day, and I'm stressing out about the thought of wearing make up. Any suggestions? Also I drink a liter of water if not more a day, and it does nothing for my skin...help!

I was seeing if anyone knew of any acne products for my face that would work. I don't have a problem with pimples, but I do have a blackhead problem and so far the products I've tried are Proactive and a Clean & Clear face wash and niether of them worked. I was looking at maybe the Zeno Hotspot but I dunno if that would work either.

I was also wondering about nails. I bite mine so much I never have 'em and believe me I've tried everything to stop biting but it doesn't work. I was going to do fake nails and make 'em look nice but I dunno if DIY is better or going to a nail salon.

Any advice would be great. Thanks!
