Have any of you had to deal with bitter divorcees? I have 2 coworkers, one being a close friend, who have had failed marriages and every chance they get they talk sh!t about marriage and how it's terrible and don't waste your time / money / etc. and "live in sin" talk. omg. It's like dude, you KNOW I'm getting married - stfu about it just because YOU chose the wrong person!!

The issue so many fail to realize is that generally if you've gotten divorced, there were issues that were around well before the wedding and instead of handling that BEFORE getting married - you got married assuming things would get resolved. Marriage does NOT cure ANYTHING. Marriage merely magnifies the issues at hand and then causes those in the marriage to get panicked and feel trapped in the marriage and then they start to resent each other.

Both of these people had glaringly obvious issues in their relationships prior to getting married and then when these issues erupted and turned into a divorce they're all bitter. So obnoxious. FI and I have had our issues - but we've dealt with them and now they're a non-issue. You have to know what you can and cannot handle for the rest of your life and either accept the other person's flaws or just call it off before it gets bad.

Makes me absolutely bat-sh!t insane. lol

The mono is getting better and after a ton of testing the last month I just met with the blood specialist. My white blood count was normal. Looks like it was just an infection and I can now enjoy the wedding this weekend. It's such a relief. Now just praying it doesn't rain in the ceremony

It still feels so surreal. honeymoon soon nice. So the rain didnt hold out all day but thankfully we did a first look and did get some outdoor photos. Before it poured crazy but people still got their Dels after ceremony and everyone was raving about my dress, the good food and had a good time. Good luck ladies getting around to all those tables, ours took a bit but i still got to dance some. All in all really awesome. Post reviews and pics soon hopefully. :)

Hi all! I am back as an officially married woman, and it feels amazing :) The wedding was mostly flawless- literally nothing went wrong. We thought it would rain on our pictures before the cocktail hour but it didn't rain until I entered the reception venue, thank goodness. I cannot wait to see our professional pictures!! The food was amazing, as was the cake, and our guests agreed :) We had a 9-piece orchestra and the leader played his violin at each table during dinner, and everyone loved it (even people we didn't think would- like DH's best man). Many people complimented us that it's the nicest wedding they have been to. What a compliment! I am glad that we were able to make it an enjoyable day for everyone.

Although mostly everything went right there were a couple things I wasn't happy about- it was in the 90s and our church isn't air conditioned. It was HOT. And my dress was satin and heavy, so throughout the day it slipped down (not alot- but enough so that the boning of the bodice sat on my hips funny). And with the tightness of my dress and the heat it was hard to breathe (after dinner MOH and I went to bathroom to unzip for a few minutes lol). And I am a little annoyed that my bridesmaids didn't fan out my train during the ceremony. I had a beautiful train but for the whole ceremony (of the pictures I have seen) it had folds and creases. A long, displayed train is one of those things that I dreamed about since a little girl, so I am a bit disappointed by that.

This is getting long, sorry. We got back from our honeymoon in N. Michigan today and DH has off tomorrow so we can deposit checks, bring gifts over from my parents, etc. I am up with heartburn so I decided to post. Congrats to the ladies who are married and good luck to those yet to wed! :) These pics aren't the greatest to see my dress, but they are a couple of my favs so far.

I have came to the conculsion that my mother is a total "B" - she says and does everything in her power to piss me off - thats 1 reason why i moved 1500 miles away from home.. long story short her half-sister called her last night to say that she is bringing 2 other people with her and 1 of which is a 3 yr old baby.. my mother has heard me time and time again say that i dont want any children near this wedding and also how over guest/budget we are.. so instead of telling her sister that it was not ok to bring people -- she says :"thats nice and make sure you call Aisha"..... Which has no caused me to filp out on my mother - i cant belive her azz... Really she has only gave me 75.00 towards a 11K wedding and at 150.00 pp 2 more people =300.00 that I dont have at all.. I'm so pissed.. I just really hope that when she get's her on weds i dont have to interact with her because i might snap if she comes at me the wrong way... I am not with it......

Terrified of what I've forgot!

So with 12 days left, and my venue providing most of my wedding, and the fact that I worked all summer on stuff, the only things left to do are timelines, picking up the tux, and getting the marriage license. Yet, I feel like I should have more to do right now! Is there some massive list ( besides the knot) that has everything you can think of needing for a wedding...just so I can make sure I've thought of everything!? Thanks!

We paid $400 to get married in our Catholic church which was considered a "donation" -- now we're getting married by a retired Deacon who also was part of my Confirmation and my daughter's Baptism. Now - we want to give him a gift above what we paid the Church for -- how do we go about that? We were thinking of giving him a thank you card with the cash inside. Does this seem appropriate? Any advice??

I know this is supposed to be one of the happiest times of my life but Im just soooo tired and worn out from working, going to college and taking care of my 3 yr old and I will be relieved when this is over. My Mom has literally been my wedding planner, she works at home so she has done a lot of calling, making appointments, addressing my invites, following up on the RSVP's, the list goes on and on...Any of you ladies feeling like this? Last week was so busy in meeting our preacher, going for a trial hair session, another dress fitting, dealing with my daughters daycare because I have her shot record and they need a paper filled out by her doctor, arguing with FI about different things..I am excited and nervous, just having a bunch of emotions here right now

And so the day has come and past and here we are husband and wife!

My wedding day was absolutely beautiful. The ceremony was outside, and it was 75 degrees and sunny, with big trees shading most of our guests! Reading advice, I tried really hard to relish every single moment and talk to as many guests as i could, but it was still a whirlwind of a day! Almost every detail planned went exactly as planned, and we had no major catastrophes or drama from my big drinking WI family. It was amazing and I hope that I will come on and post pics again after our 2 week honeymoon. In the meantime, to those who have not married, the best advice I can give you is to do whatever you need to do to make yourself feel at ease on the day of your wedding. I was a crazy neurotice planner with lists for everyone of exactly what should be done when. It may have been overkill, but everything was done, and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Our venue was SPECTACULAR, and we had a DOC assigned to us included in the cost of the day, which we were not aware of. It really saved us. But, after all the planning and stressing and craziness, once the day comes, cherish every single second. Look around, breathe, and smile at all of those who have come to celebrate. There were definitely snafous through it, but I fixed them if I could and smiled if I couldn't. Every moment of stress and tears and burns from hot glue and days of craftin were worth every moment of the wedding I have dreamed of with the best man I could have ever asked for!

Good luck to those whoa re still counting down, and best wishes to the new wives. I am so incredibly excited to be a wife! Love my AUGUST board! HUGS!

Woo-hoooo! MOH and BM and I finished off the centrepieces, and the pew bows this morning, they opened their thank-you gifts, and we had a wonderful luncheon at a little restaurant in town. What an awesome day! Crossing fingers that the rest of the week, and the Big Day itself, goes just as well!

Definitely a productive day. We found more tables since we are doing a backyard reception and are simply borrowing tables. Just need a few more. Got paint at Hobby Lobby and sponges for some diy work. Finished making stones baggies to hold down balloons. Met with the photographer and worked out payments and what photos we want. Figured out where I will be getting dressed and all of that. And printed my vows! So exciting to be getting everything finished up. What do you all have left to do with the big day coming up? :D

My girls and I went out for my bachelorette party last night! We had dinner at a french restaurant down town, then went went to a spy themed bar called Safe House, then we hit up Coyote Ugly and a country bar. Now, I don't drink mind you - but I had SO much fun! I haven't gone bar hopping down water street since before I had my daughter. I got hit on a LOT and there were sailors on leave and so the streets were full of them - one even bought us all a round of drinks at the Safe House :D

At the Safe House if you don't know the password (which I did even tho I hadn't been there before!) --- OR if you're in a big party like a bachelorette party... you have to do something goofy before they will let you in (and this is all on video for the people who are inside the bar already to watch on the screens throughout the Safe House) -- well they made my girls kneel in front of me and raise one hand and sing "For She's a jolly good fellow!" and then they had me stand against the wall and they each got to give me one spank before we could go in. LOL When we walked in after this some SKEEZY guy is likke "Hey you gotta come over HERE for your spanking!" />.< NOPE. LOL guys down there have some big ol balls I tell ya!

I went for my 2nd fitting yesterday! Since my first, I have lost about 18 pounds so she is having to take it in alot more! But it looked beautiful! She is hoping to have it done by Tues..And last night, Mom and I met with the photographer and we ARE doing the first look photos! She has some great ideas and I can't wait! My Mom asked my lil brothers new GF to take video of us walking down the aisle because my Mom is walking me down, she won't get to see Cadance, our flower girl or me walking down so we have that taken care of..she is just handing over her camera that night to my brothers GF..

I dropped off my gown to have it taken in a tad at the top. She will have it ready by the 20th.

Bought FI's ring today. He went for a timeless white gold band (6mm). Luckily we got to trade in my old wedding band (yes, from a previous marriage) which knocked off almost have of the value of the wedding band. Worked out great! He didn't have any issue with doing this, I am happy to be rid of the ring, and we got more than if I had tried to sell it on my own!

We want to write our vows. I don't know where to start! I feel so bad/dumb because I've been with FI for so long, so I should know exactly what to say, right?!?! I'm so stumped.

I just need some guidelines/suggestions for how to start, and what sorts of things to consider putting in my vows. I'm sure once I find a starting point, everything else will all fall into place. I think my vows are the most important part of everything, so I just want to get it right.

So my day is almost here it's already going by SO fast! Yesterday I went got a gel mani / pedi my eyebrows waxed. Now I'm sitting in the hair salon getting it blown out so it won't take as long tomorrow. After I get back we're going to finish up any last minute packing start packing up the car with all my DIY projects. We're headed to the hotel so we dont have to drive the 45 min to the venue in the am. I cant believe its going so fast. I need today tomorrow! to go by SUPER SLOW! Wish me luck! NOT TO GET MARRIED!!!!

We just decided to drive up and have a nice weekend and some non wedding related fun!! I am so excited!!!

My family is getting pumped up to leave Minnesota and head down here, I don't have a whole lot left to do and I just can't believe in 3 weeks from this moment I am going to be getting ready for my wedding!!!!!

We have 4 days left until our RSVP's are due and so far there are 95 people coming, 7 people not, and like 10 people or 15 I suppose havent RSVP'd which at this point is good because we the capacity in our ceremony room is only 96, then its all standing room... haha. I feel bad. I need to figure out a way to get some excess seating in there..

Anywho! Good luck to the brides this weekend and have a wonderful weekend and wooo I can't wait!
