Wait, I'm getting married in less than two weeks?

I've been thinking about it the past few minutes, and am happily overwhelmed by the fact that a week from now, I'll be packing to go get on a plane, fly across the US, and then get married less than a week later. The next few weeks are going to be rediculously busy, but I can't wait to plunge into them. Now is the chance for me to finally get into the DOING of bridal stuff, as most of it has been done for me already (cause I have awesome in-laws that wanted the wedding to be as stressfree for both of us, and have done most of the groundwork).

It just seems like there's so much to do, I'm in the middle of moving into the new apartment, I have work for the next seven nights, and I have packing for the trip as well. And that's BEFORE I even get there!

I'm getting excited!!

Hey Ladies,

So I had a lot of items on my registry once upon a time, but after 2 showers and referring everyone to it for Xmas presents I am 22 days away from my wedding and there are NINE items on the registry.

They're all things I really want and if we don't receive them I'll buy at least 7 of them for us, but do you think this is a problem? Should I try to find more to add? Leave it as is?

What would you think if you were attending a wedding shortly, checked the registry and that's what you found?!

So FI was in a wedding a month ago that he and one of the other groomsmen threw the bachelor paty since BM was in Louisiana and could only make it to the wedding. No big. Well it really meant that FI and I planned this guys bachelor party. Well since then, FI has really been looking forward to his bachelor party. Well his BM doesn't know too many of the other guys so I was kinda facilitating communication. I started a facebook message so that all of them could talk to each other and then I left the conversation.

Talked to FI's BM today since the party is tonight and BM told me that one of the guys FI wanted to invite has looked at the message but hasn't said anything. It bugs the crap out of me because this is the kind of guy who, if something better comes along, he'll go do that instead which is what I'm afraid has happened with this party. and as such, he has not told his buddies who FI also wanted to invite but who I am not friends with therefore could not include on the message about it, so that's three people who won't be there for FI tonight all because of one wanker.

Grrr...just bugs me because I know how much FI was looking forward to this. :(

One of my bridesmaids had to step down...due to finances (she lives in GA and couldnt afford to come up- she had to use money she had towards a new car for her and her bf.) She was crying and upset...I wasn't. I am sad, yes...disappointed- you bet. But stuff happens and I TOTALLY understand the money situation. UGH!! : /
Thankfully another friend (who KNEW ahead of time, stepped up to the plate)...she knew all along that she would have been in the wedding if we had 7 girls, instead of 6). She has been a good friend for years now. ANYWAYS- ugh...she just texted me and said that she can't find a dress in her size at Davids. WHAT?!?!?
they said it wouldnt come in, in time before the wedding....YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!! I'm so annoyed at them...I REALLY detest them. I dont say that about anyone really.
I've had the WORST customer service there. Bought my dress and all of the BM's dresses there (they paid for their own)...but my goodness. Once you are done, they treat you awful. TSK!

So...now Idk what my friend is gonna do...

UGH!
So yesterday, my MOH tells me that she is having her hair done with one of her friends. She doesnt trust many people with her hair, so I was obviously a little annoyed. I took a deep breath and said OK. I had wanted everyone to be together in ONE place that day! Ya know? So I tell her this and she says, "dont worry, I promise I will meet you by 10:30am." So I tell one of my cousins, who is my bridesmaid...she gets annoyed and says that we should all go to the same place, in which I agree. So I spend about 20 mins of my work Christmas party, going back n forth with them. I WANTED TO TEAR MY HAIR OUT and just have everyone wear wigs with me. No, not really..
Anyways- I'm just stressed. On top of this, our wedding bands came in but the woman LIED TO US and we are not getting interest free now. Spent about an hour in their store last night and left crying. #@((#@)*$#)$#@. I hardly EVER swear and I wanted to use every word last night.
I mean, my wedding is only 4 weeks away...GIVE A GIRL A BREAK!
Also, had emergency surgery on my dog the other night and a root canal for myself today. LOL.
OK- done venting. Beyond that, I am REALLY BLESSED...and grateful for SOOO much, but it sure does help to get all the nasty's out...and maybe make you feel better too if you have been having a rough patch.

Not the ideal time

...to be sick.

There are a few parts to why, so just bear with me. My sister has two cats. My sister was living in an apartment in a city about an hour north of where we live. She got a new job in October here in town, so she moved back home. She is living in my parents house with me and my other sister right now until she can get her bearings enough to get a new place to live. There is not enough room two storage units to store her stuff from her apartment and my stuff from my dorm.So her stuff had taken up residence in the living room. Fine and dandy. wasn't hurting anyone.

Middle sister is 25 and somewhat unstable. She is a creature of habit almost to the point of it being harmful. So when thanksgiving this year was not as it normally is in our family, mid sis had a small breakdown. So mom is going out of her way to make sure Christmas is as close to normal as we can make it what with the wedding and this being my last christmas at home. Problem is, we usually put our tree in the living room. We cannot because of old sis's stuff. So last week, mom decides that she is going to move a bunch of old sis's stuff out to Great-Grandparents currently vacant house, 45 minutes from our house. Fine.

Except I'm allergic to cats.

Old sis's stuff staying stationary in the living room has been fine because I don't often go in there. But in the process of moving old sis's stuff out to the other house, we stirred up every bit of cat fur, dander and dust that had taken up residence on all of old sis's stuff. So I currently feel like death because I'm dealing with the post-nasal drop from h-e-double-hockey-sticks all because of mid sis's inability to deal with change.

oiy. I cannot be sick right now.

I can't decide whether I'm more irritated at old sis for having cats or mid sis for being 8-years-old about this.

Totally random, but I remember you asking if anyone could find that Clone Wars hat. I know that you were never able to find what you were looking for-at least last I heard. But I was looking through Pintrest tonight and found a BobaFett hat. From an Etsy seller. Looks like she does pretty good work. LINK I don't see the character you were looking for, but you could see if she can do a custom one.

I know its too late for a Christmas present, bu t might be worth checking out for a birthday gift or something!

Is anyone else anxiously awaiting RSVPs? We have 43 outstanding RSVP cards (including from my brother- who is obviously coming since he is in the wedding!). Our deadline is December 15, and they are only slowly trickling in! I know we purposely made our deadline early but I feel like everyone forgot to respond and I'm starting to get frustrated!

Hyperventilation

I may actually start hyperventilating.

We are only 2 days and 2 weeks from the wedding. Christmas is in 4 days. We haven't been able to find anything decent in our price range house wise. We still have a ton of stuff to finish for the wedding. And there is an artic air mass threatening to strand me somewhere on Christmas day. I wouldn't mind it any other day than Christmas. Last time this happened, I got stranded at FI's house over christmas and the two days following. I missed Christmas with my family because of it. All of that has me more nervous than I can remember being in a long time. Time for an ativan I think?

Housing woes

Okay, so FI and I are trying to buy a house. We are pre-approved, but at this rate, the houses in our price range are all foreclosures. Which on top of that, we have a special guaranteed loan that could push closing process our 45 days or more. And foreclosures take longer too because of the way banks typically sell them. so grrrrr...just mad. We may be living out in the boonies longer than either of us would like. rah! Hopefully we can find something we like today and can get moving on it before the holidays. we'll see though.

I agree about the chaos posts! We're getting married two weeks from tmrw and there is so much to do! Fortunately, I'm a teacher and am off on Christmas break starting TODAY! One thing that has helped me is to take a piece of copy paper and fold it lengthwise. I've written the days of this week spaces out down the left column and times of appointmentspastor, wedding coordinator, doctor, vet, etc., those were the nonnegotiable ones. On the right side I started listing things that have to be done or calls that have to be made this week. I'm crossing them off as I do them and sometimes moving something from the right hand column to the left if I see there is a particularly good day to do it. The list is full!!! I also have a paper going for the following week Christmas and our New Year's Day wedding, but it isn't so bad YET! Maybe this will help someone. By the wayI chose the things to do from the right hand list according to what has to be done by the end of today or tmrwnot by what I want to do the most. For example, I just finished filling out all the medical forms for a meeting with a surgeon tmrw because they have to be done, rather than working on the menu and shopping list for Christmas, which I'd rather do, but can wait.

So my fiance works for a prominent company (he is a software engineer). So today at 3:30 pm they send out an email saying that they need a ton of people to go to China. They need to know who by Monday. Ummm....the catch. It's for 3 weeks. The first rotation starts right after we get back from our honeymoon.

Its a great thing for him since he is trying to get promoted much quicker than normally happens. But selfishly, I'm like but what about me? I'm gonna chill in an apartment, by myself, for almost a month. Right after our wedding. Sigh.

He is trying to see if bringing significant others is aloud and what we would have to pay for. Cool. I'd love to go. Con-I've never had a desire to go to China and we'll be paying for our apartment to sit empty for almost 2 months!

Chaos doesn't even begin to cover it

So after Friday which was a nightmare, things calmed down a bit. FI has been staying with me and my family for the past few days and will be staying with us for the next few days at least. It's been nice to not have any added expectations put on us. My family is very chill, all things considered. And it's been nice just to spend some time with my family without having to be or go anywhere else. I've enjoyed it.

Saturday we hauled out to Rolla, MO for my cousin's graduation.

Yesterday, we were supposed to go look at houses, but the realtor didn't get back in touch with us until almost 5:00 PM so that got smashed.

But looking at my calendar for the next few weeks, I am in a panic. I haven't touched wedding stuff for almost a week and it is starting to show. At this point, I'm not sure how we're going to get everything done. oiy. Less than 3 weeks now. 19 days. oh goodness. I have a lot to do. :-S

I've stumbled on a couple of the other month boards and they are doing holiday card exchanges. I love getting mail and we only get like 3 Christmas cards-one is from our dentist. For some reason our family just doesn't send them out. :( I know this is moot at this point anyway and some people aren't comfortable giving out addresses. But still could have been fun!

And by the way, some of these other month boards have a massive amount of people participating! One is even talking about doing a wedding gift "secret santa" type thing. It's amazing to see!

I just got an email from my FMIL asking me for a day-of schedule so that she could add stuff to it to then send to the mom of our flower girls so that FSIL and her SO could have the girls stay with them in Tulsa after the rehearsal dinner on Friday night.

At this point, I can't nail down a schedule because I can't get a hold of my stylist to figure out how much time she wants to allot to each girl since we will wind up with 13 women needing their hair done day-of.

I told my FMIL this and instead I wrote a very heartfelt letter pleading with the FGs' mom essentially begging her to allow the girls to stay in Tulsa for the night for the sake of everyone's safety. I asked FMIL to forward this on to FGs' mom

To which my FMIL responded "Don't sweat it. ILY."

Which pretty much means, FMIL is going to make up her own schedule and not forward my letter on. I'm done. I'm done with FMIL, with her interfering. I'm just ready to scream, pull all of his family from the wedding and just....urrrrrghh!

at this point, I wish we had chosen to elope. I'm so sick of this stuff.

Okay so I know there have been like 10 different posts similar to this in the last few weeks, but I just looked at my calendar and noticed that there are only 4 more rows worth of days until my wedding. I'm having a small attack of hyperventilation.

SO MUCH TO DO!!! AAAAAHHH! hahaha. I'll be okay, it's just that panic that sets in when you look at how much you have left to do verses how much time you have left to do it. not to mention, we have christmas thrown in there for good measure. SO CRAZY!
