Okay so a little background. I have an all inclusive venue and originally there were two cake places to pick from. One of which went out of business and only left one option which I thought wasn't great. Because of this, Venue told me they would waive cutting fee and credit me.

Well, back in Nov, I went pricing around some local cake shops. First one I went to happens to be a big name place in the city I grew up in. SIL/MOH and I stopped in as they also sell bakery items. We asked to talk to someone. A lady came down, did an interview and there was no cake tasting, no choices made, just wanted a price range for the cake I was looking for and to feed up to 135 guests.

I was advised there would be a delivery fee added on if I went with them. I was also told I would get a call back with an estimate and would schedule a tasting. I never heard from them and went with a friend and her new bakery, this decision was in Jan.

Today at work my cell phone rings, a number I don't know and I can't answer at work anyway. I had a voicemail.

Big Name bakery is calling me 3 weeks before my wedding, asking if they are doing my cake!

Seriously?! I don't know whether I should call them back and say hey stupid heads, or just ignore them as they did to me.

We went and got our marriage license today! I was super freaked out - I've been asking FI for his birth certificate for months. He gives it to me late last night and it's not a certified copy - just a photocopy with no raised seal. And he was born out of state so we can just run downtown and grab another one. Luckily, the lady was super nice and let us use it without too much hassle. As we were leaving the city hall FI says "wow its like real now" Yay!

So in last night's nightmare, I was late to my wedding, there was no cake, no bartender, and no band. We then went to a pool party at the dad from Modern Family's house.

Be honest ladies! I think the curls need to be seperated a little more and be a little tighter because my hair has a tendancy to fall in the heat...

not all of the glittering rinestones are in my hair we just did it to get an idea. but this is our critique moment.

I was worried about hurting her feelings but she told me that she only took 45 min to do it yesterday but on the big day she has me booked in for an hour and a half.

He picked one out at Macys in white gold that he really liked but I waited too long and it came off sale. I can just picture FI damaging it and/or losing it. I thought he should have something a little more durable but I was on a mission to find him his ring at a better price. I haven't had any luck finding a duplicate reasonably priced.

Today I went looking for a garter but stopped at a jeweler in the mall. Low and behold his ring was sitting in their case. But get this it's made of tungsten carbide instead of white gold (it looks exactly the same). It's really durable and will with stand his work/lifestyle. If he breaks it or damages it they'll replace the ring for free for life and I didn't have to buy a maintenance plan.

I think I scored and it's a big check off my list.

Seeing how almost everyone has had their bach party already...who did you invite? I hear etiquette says all young women invited to the wedding but....does everyone really do that?? I have a cousin I reeeeaaallllly don't want to invite. She's extremely awkward and uncomfortable. Once when I invited her to a party, she spent the night imitating and making fun of my friend's basic Spanish who was visiting me from the states! My poor friend felt so embarassed and I was pissed. All the other times she roams around making awkward comments and convo making everyone feel very uncomfortable. And that's what bothers me...it's not so much how I feel about her but how uncomfortable she always makes others in the group. I'm sure I could easily get away with not inviting her. But I'm thinking that if I don't, that would mean I wouldn't be able to invite my other two cousins, ones that I actually do want to invite, because then that could potentially cause unwanted family drama. FI says not to invite her anyway and only invite the cousin that's not close at all to the crazy one. Ugh I'm stuck. Did you have any not so fond of guests at your bach party??

I'm about to shut down my work computer for the next two weeks!!! I still have a week until my wedding, but I will likely be running around like a crazy person next week, so probably won't really be on here (I will try to PIP my hair & m/u trial if I can get pics of it).

I love my FPIL's... they're awesome but they need to STOP inviting people 2 weeks before the wedding. They just invited more people and my catering was due today. I just put my foot down and said enough, They said they were paying for these extra mouths which is awesome and kind of them but I can't keep calling my vendors and saying 'yea.. do you mind adding X amount of people to the order?"
They knew today was the deadline so I guess they figured they have till 5 pm to add people.. lol.

I have had two bridesmaids which includes two flower girls back out via text. One groomsman back out via a phone call better than a text in my mind. My maid of honor is clueless and only helps if she finds the task "fun". And the best man is worthless! I'm so frustrated with my fiancee's supposed "best friend"! He texted me the week before what was supposed to be the bachelor party saying that he couldn't afford the concert tickets for the bachelor party even though he was only paying for himself and the groom which I can sort of understand financially. But then the night of the cancelled party, he sends my fiancee a bunch of pictures from the concert! He spent the bachelor party money on tickets for himself and his on again/ of again girlfriend! Sorry for being irritated but seriously.... Now my brother has stepped up and is throwing the bachelor party a camping trip, has done a ton of work throughout the planning process, and has gotten really close to my fiancee, that I feel he should replace the best man. However, I am leaving the decision up to my fiancee who doesn't want to hurt the best man's feelings.. Gahh!... I'm just so full of resentment toward the best man for letting my fiancee down, I am worried it will ruin our day.... Okay... Just needed to get that out!

my parents were on a two-week vacay, so we haven't seen RSVP cards for the past two weeks. they got home last night and gave me a final update.

WE STILL HAVE 44 PEOPLE WHO HAVEN'T RSVPD. SO MAD.

I am trying to message people now. ugh. one of my friends told me "oh, I don't really check my mail much so I never saw the invitation!" WHAT? WHO ARE YOU? WHO DOESN"T CHECK THEIR MAIL?

also, neither my boss nor my fiance's boss have RSVPd. it's so awkward to ask them where their RSVP card is. UGH.

end vent. thank you. since my date is later than some of you i am one of the last ones to be dealing with this hideous annoyance.

I just saw on the Thursday thread that we share the same fresh fruit and raw vegetable allergy. Booo! I developed it when I was about 12 and it's progressed as I've gotten older. Have you ever been to a doctor about it? I always mean to cuz I'd love to get some answers but it's not one of those things I've gotten around to lol.

Sometimes I have the same reaction when I eat nuts and even sometimes with soymilk! Have you had this happen too? When it's a food I really love, ocassionally I eat some of it anyway and deal with the itching for a half hour til it goes away. Mangoes, avocadoes and strawberries are my faves!! :(

ETA: Oh and btw, I saw your bach pics on FB recently and I was dying laughing!! Your "stripper" was absolutely hilarious! Looks like your friends threw you an awesome party! :)

Anyone panicing slightly with the way your house looks with family coming in and going to be in your home? I will admit I am not UBER neat freak but I have 3 dogs and I always have something scattered on my floor....either stuffing from the death of a beloved toy, kibble, bones, toys scattered, My German Bernard (she's a GSD/St, Bernard mix lol 110lbs baby) likes to drag her blankie out and tug it around the house with her. and with me working rescue there are chances of me having another dog or two in my home at any given time so I have fur on the furniture...I'm starting to panic because I know how my grandmother is about clean. I'm just having a mini panic attack because my house will NEVER be to her standards of clean lol
