With Bridetobes previous post, she reminded me that I wanted to post these.
I bought plain white handkerchiefs and hand stitched my messages on them by hand. I'll admit that it took alot of work and man hours but I got them all done.

This is kind of a strange problem...

So back at Christmas my mom got FI and I a set of toasting flutes to use at the reception, and now today, FI's mom also brought us a set. Does anyone have any ideas of how I could incorporate both sets into the evening somehow? I have thought about it and am stumped, but I would like to be able to do something with both of them even if it is untraditional.

1. Remember how my jeweler was going to custom design some wedding day earrings for me from my family diamonds? They just called to tell me that the blue diamonds that have been in my family for about a hundred years - that I had previously had appraised and basically been cherishing/worshipping my whole life - are not, in fact, diamonds, and are merely simulated stones. I am devastated.

2. Looks like our house deal is going to fall through. Our realtor was worried that if we purchased the home for anywhere near the list price, that the home would not appraise properly because it's so much more expensive than the "comps" in the area. He had this conversation with the seller and explained that was the main reason why we offered such a lower amount. The seller is basically saying "I own the house with cash, I don't even need to sell, I can do what I want", and not budging on his list price at all. I am pretty devastated. It's not that we can't afford the list price, it's that there would seriously be issues with getting financed properly because, compared to other recent sales, the home is significantly overpriced and would not appraise properly.

3. Turns out most of my friends are not able to come to either my shower or my bachelorette party. I keep getting more and more emails with excuses, other plans, etc. and it is starting to break my heart. I have been going to showers and bachelorette parties all across the midwest practically every month for my friends since I was in college, and none of them seem to be returning the favor for me, and it makes me really sad. I am supposed to head to Chicago this weekend for YET ANOTHER bachelorette party and I really want to cancel due to my current mental health state. I only know of three girls out of about 15 who are actually coming to my shower.

4. all of the above-referenced vents just caused me to have a mini-meltdown at work and I am feeling really miserable now!!!

thank you for letting me vent. I normally try not to be a whiny brat, but I am falling apart today, and venting makes me feel better. :)

And how many specific photos are you asking for? I don't want a super long list, b/c I want my photographer to have the freedom to take a lot of natural pictures, but it would be nice to have a few creative yet planned shots, too.

So one of my closest friends has lived in Florida for the last four years with her husband (he is in the military) And last week he was finished with his service duties and today they are leaving to move back to PA for good!

I am just so excited that she will be back! And even more excited that it is right before all of the wedding festivities!!

This is going to be us in 2 months!!

Our venue posted this video from a wedding there a couple months ago. We dont have a videographer booked right now, but after watching this I really want one. It's the same ceremony location as ours will be in and the guys will be in the same color suits. Our reception is in a different ballroom that is facing out over the ocean though. Just watching this and hearing the vows gets me so emotional...This should get any of us excited!!!

So here's what we have figured out so far. FI has his BM. My MOH is still up in the air but if necessary my sister will probably want to step in for her (she's totally okay with this and hasn't thought anything about it) Best man and my sister can walk in together. FI's daughter is JBM and has voiced that she wants to walk alone. Which is fine but FI says if she ends up needing to be paired with someone he can speak wth her. No big either way.

FI wants 3 important men to join him at the altar, his uncle, his bio dad and his stepfather. Though the stepfather issue is touchy with bio dad AND now his mom too because they're going through a divorce. That's a whole other story though haha. Anyway I'm not sure what to do with these men and neither does FI. Do they become GMs and walk alone? I mean they're grown men, I feel like it would be kinda strange or funny looking. Should they just enter the chapel normally and later when FI stands at the altar, they can stand up to join him? I just don't want to make them feel uncomfortable or out alone in the spotlight.

What do you think would be best? And usually is it ONLY BMs and GMs at the altar with the couple? TIA!!

I got the call on my way home from work that my dress is here! I am so excited and nervous all at the same time. I am going on Saturday to try it on and determine if I'm going to need any alterations. If it fits like the sample in the salon all I will need to have done is my bustle. I can't wait to see my dress again it has been so long. I ordered it in November.

So it's been a super frequent wtf of mine lately since FI and I have been trying to close on our dream house for about 5 weeks now. We were starting to get super nervous that we'd need to pay all kinds of crazy rush fees and such but Friday morning we got a call seeing if we could close that day. We were able to get there on time and do our last walk through and close at the date they gave us at the very begining. Irony is silly. lol

We spent last weekend there cleaning and sorting the stuff the sellers left and although I'm still sore (and possibly dusty) I can honestly say it was worth every bit of nerves and frustration. We had the BEST time just enjoying the house, the lake, the pretty stream by our house and how beautiful the stars are. Thanks for all the vibes throughout ladies!

Alright ladies, I am horrible at coordinating jewelry with my outfit on a daily basis, so I am not trusting myself to figure it out for my wedding. I've been on the boards occasionally for a couple months so I'm not sure how I missed these wedding month boards! Anyway, FI and I were engaged in February of this year and are planning a simple DIY wedding for July 15. We are doing lots of non-traditional things and so far enjoying the planning. I think the only thing that has been any level of stressful so far is coordinating the rehearsal dinner. We cannot get into the ceremony location the night before, and FFIL (who is hosting) suggested the weekend before. It appears that no matter when we do it, someone will not be able to make it. I certainly would never require anyone to attend, but I don't want hurt feelings if we go ahead with a date that may not be convenient for one or two. Anyone else run into something like this?

I would ask on the San Diego board, but it's kind of slow, and I swear everyone uses the same 3 officiants on there.

Two months for us! It's getting so near! FI said yesterday that it was finally all getting "real" to him. I was like, "THANK GOODNESS!" I've been living the reality for 2 years...

Once school is over on the 12th, I'm kicking it into high gear for getting things done. We haven't looked for an apartment yet (FI lives out of state), and haven't done any of the little things we need to do.

What about you? And anyone else who has July 1st?

hahaha!!! It has been craazzzzy busy!

So, the weekend was awesome & busy! I was freezing my buns off! haha I'm used to the 70ish degree weather & I get mid to high 50's the whole weekend!! I barely had any long sleeved clothes left....*note to self: keep long sleeved items from now on...*

I got my hair trial done & am in LOVE with it. I'm going to add a bigger braid to the right side of my head...also, she doesn't like to do the 'full' thing that day because most of the time you cannot get the exact look again...which I was cool with! She's awesome & I trust her!

Next, we went to look at the candelabras! This is one of the short ones we'll have for the ceremony (which will then be brought into the reception space for decor). She didn't have any of the tall ones. They're on their way to the States! The kissing balls will be white & have crystal butterflies scattered in them!

Lastly, my shower was AMAZING!!! I had a great time & it was soo good to see my family & friends again! I did awesome! I didn't cry until I said goodbye to one of my cousin's! We had soup & salad. Chicken noodle & potato! The buscuits were very similar to Red Lobsters! (yumm!) We also had mac n cheese (per FI's gma's request). Also a ton of sweets!! My aunt made these adorable bride & groom balloons!! My mom gave everyone heart shaped measuring spoons as a favor. I got a TON of our serveware, cooler & towels, etc.! My favorite gift though, was a handmade blanket my stepgrandma made us!! In LOVE!!
