So I went dress shopping maybe almost a month ago, and I haven't been again since. I didn't have a good time at my first appointment. It wasn't traumatizing, but it was a bad time. The girl had no idea what I wanted even though I was very clear, and she brought me a series of dresses that were very obviously from the "use these dresses for fat girls" rack. I overall left very discouraged and feeling bad about my body (not normal for me) and I just haven't bothered going dress shopping since.

We're 10 months out, and people are starting to bug me about the dress. My mother is worried there won't be enough time for fittings, my bff is concerned I'm going to put it off forever because of the last appointment, and other people keep asking what it will look like, what style it is, etc. But I just don't have any motivation to go and do it.

Any ladies from florida or have been there? We are going on a cruise for our honeymoon and leaving from Port of Miami, does anyone know a good place to stay for an afforable price for 2 nights (thurs/fri)? having never been there and looking on the internet its hard to figure out whats what, we dont want to stay in a ghetto and will need access, transit or shuttle to/from the airport and the port of miami.

Funny wedding pictures?

So I got my disk of pictures from my photographer, and thought this could make an interesting topic. Are there any pictures that make you laugh/have a good story?

For example:

Our ceremony was outside, we had kids there. My cousin and his kid spent the entire ceremony in the bushes just beside where we were standing. His kid is not quite 2 and was absolutely entertained with the flowers and lady bugs in the bushes. Consequently in all of the signing pictures my cousin is watching us, from the bushes, but you can't see his kid. So it really just looks like he's creeping around in the bushes lol The only pictures he's in are the signing ones, but it just makes me laugh becuase unless you were there, and knew his son was in there... he looks like a serious creeper!

Today my BM got married! I was a BM in her wedding and it was in the backyard of her parents house. It was so HOT today! While most of the guests were under the tent a few rows and the WP were out of the shade and in the sweaty sun. I really thought I was going to DIE it was so hot! The ceremony wasn't long, but it did feel like forever! Thankfully it cooled down later in the day and the wind slightly picked up making it feel less hot out. I was super paranoid about having armpit stains on my dress but somehow my deodorant was working overtime.Here are some pictures from today:

I"ll explain 2 things. The heart on the tail of my bow is made from a tie that was my dad's. He passed away in December, and this is how I had him with me all day.

WHen I first started talking about the wedding, I knew i didn't want flowers. My dad suggested balloon boquets. I almost went with that Idea until I found the pinwheels and LOVED them. So the balloons was my moment with my dad before everything started.

I had been in touch much more often before my wedding, but I need your help again!

I'm in grad school, and I'm doing some research that has a little something to do with the "martial name change." If you could please take some time to answer the following as honestly as possible, it would help me oh so much! All of you were always a big help for wedding planning, so I know I can trust your opinions.

If you changed your name, could you explain why you did so? How did you feel about it?

...doing projects around the house! We moved in March 2011, and I swear we've gotten more projects done around here since the wedding than in the entire year+ that we were here before.

-We finally painted the accent wall I wanted & got the bar cabinet from C&B I've had my eye on for over a year. The wall is a light blue, surrounding walls are light beige/cream. I have 2 photo montage frames to hang here, and then I want to get a bigger wall clock to hang in the middle of them.

And all of our barware/booze fits inside - it opens up for a party =]

We also bought a sweet mirror for our bedroom (the one I had before was tiny, and this one is huge!). Our ceilings are 12 feet so it gives you a little of an idea how tall it is, I was standing about 12 feet away

And last but not least, we've been needing to mulch our yard BADLY since we moved in. Seriously, there was like no mulch left anywhere and all the dirt around our plants was starting to erode away. We ordered 9 cu. yards and got everything done! Filled in the existing beds, and then made 2 circular beds around trees in our yard and then made 2 large new beds on the back and side of our house. Now I just need to pick out some plants/trees to put in them!

Our yard looks 1000% better. Before we were having weeds grow up like every day because there was no mulch. I spent last weekend weeding like crazy and pruning the sh#t out of everything because it was growing out of control!

...and after 9 hours of working out in the yard, H is currently upstairs installing our new roman blinds in our bedroom. I knew there was a reason I married this guy ;)

We got back from our Colorado HM yesterday, and we had such a great time! We stayed the weekat a B&B in Estes Park called Romantic River Song. It was at the end of a half mile dirt road and all we could hear was the rushing river and some crazy chipmunks. And it was within a 5 min drive to downtown area. I took over 1200 pictures and haven't gone through them all yet, but I will post some when I get to them.

We went up Trail Ridge Road, took a tour of the Stanley Hotel, took a Jeep tour that was a blast!, and went up Mt Evans.

While we were in Denver, my photographer sent me an email letting us know we were on her blog! Thank God for smart phones! I am thrilled with them and can't wait to see the rest!

Hi Ladies! First of all, CONGRATULATIONS on your new marriages!

I normally post on the September 2012 board, but I realized I have a question for someone who is already married and my board can't much help with that! Would you mind offering me a little insight as to how your receptions went? Was it a total blur? Did you get to interact with your friends/family or was it an entire night of missing out on the food and trying to say "hi" to everyone? I'm a little nervous I'm going to spend the entire night entertaining others and not getting a chance to actually enjoy the reception or dance with FI. Any insight is appreciated. Thanks so much!

So I think I was probably one of the first of us to get married on 5/4, and I still have yet to see any of my professional photos. This Friday will be 6 weeks since the wedding and I'm seriously DYING! I'm kinda torn because I want my pics now now now but I also don't want to pressure the photographer and have him rush through things and not give me and 110% job. Any thoughts? uuuugh!

How to remove Vistaprint logo on Thank you card?

I'm using vistaprint to print my folded Thank you cards. I just noticed there is a small vistaprint logo in the back of the Thank you card. Is there a way to remove it? I'm looking for an option to remove it, but I can't find one. Any ideas?

So maybe I am alone here - but is anyone else astounded at the amount of what I call "pee splash" that happens when guys pee? H and I have been living together for 2 years now so it isn't a new thing per se, but I'm kind of at an end point of how to deal with it.

I don't think it's "missed aim" or anything, it's just the splatter that happens when the stream hits the water onto the back of the toilet lids, and god knows elsewhere.

Awhile ago H suggested getting one of those rugs that goes around the toilet randomly. I asked why, and he said for "pee splash". I was horrified and H assured me that it happens with all guys. Prior to that, I had no idea.

All I know is, when I lived alone I'd only need to clean my toilet when the dust started to become apparent. And when I cleaned it, there was really nothing but dust to clean. Now I clean the toilet and I'm like "holy hell, how does this happen?" and then it's like it needs to be cleaned again 3 days later.

H is semi tall (around 6") and our toilets aren't super short. I've seen taller, but I'd say they are average.

Does anyone else have this problem, or am I alone here? What can I do besides clean the damn things all the time or get taller toilets?

Sorry, random thought I was having this morning while scrubbing a toilet before work because I just couldn't stand it....

Finally adjusting to normal life-pip

Its taken a long time to realize I dont have anything to do anymore! We got back from our last minute, a take off and go trip to a awesome little cabin. We did some fishing, some drinking, some fine dining, and some much needed relaxing. We decided to head home a day early as our dogs got sick from in laws leaving leftover chocolate favors on our table and the dogs devouring all of them. Genius. Although, it worked out very well as the city we were staying in was evac'd the next morning for a wild fire 1 mile away from our cabin.
The wedding went okay, as laways there were some hang ups.

*Hotel claimed we hadnt paid for our rooms, when we paid for them 6 months prior.

*Guitar player attempted to cancel at 10pm the night before, we found out at the ceremony he was detoxing from heroin. This was hard as he was an old friend, hadnt seen him in awhile. He ended up showing after Husband went off on him.
Again, we didnt realize the reasoning until he showed at the ceremony, puking, shaking, pale and playing horribly. We sent him home right after the ceremony (paid to play reception)

*ripped my dress on the skirt about 6-7in while going to the car to head for the reception. My attendant sewed me up as quickly as possible, but ripped my dress again after the ceremony on the bodice (sash)

*forgot my checkbook to pay for the reception meal, had to send a groomsmens girlfriend to grab it from the hotel causing her to miss the meal. Felt like a a@#hole.

*had what I believe was an adrenaline blackout during my entire ceremony. Worst of them all.

*driver of the getaway car was late, all the guests had left, so we didnt get our grand exit :(
