I just got home from getting my alterations done!!!!!
This was the very first time I had my wedding dress on since I bought it! It was crazy but such a great feeling!

They are taking it in an inch on each side (YAY! that made me feel good) and they are making a french bustle, it will have 10 ties... I think that looks great, not what I had thought of doing but I am glad that is what we decided!

So now the dress will have that "made for me" look that they always talk about and it will be ready in about 2 weeks!

I am so happy! and it makes it all SO real!!!

I got some stuff done yesterday! And im leaving to accomplish some more momentarily! Just sitting here waiting for FI to finish getting ready, I swear he is worse then a girl! Anyway!
We booked and prepaid for two rooms at the hilton garden in riverfront for the night before the wedding. I could care less about not being togther the night before but he wants to so... I got a great corp deal through my job so I got them for about 30 off ea. a night!
I booked and prepaid for our honeymoon suite at the luxurious St Paul Hotel, in the landmark suite. We get the B&B package, and added the romance package. I also booked a couples massage after bfast and before oot's brunch!

I also found my earrings via etsy! I love them

I am going today to go hunt for new shoes, my original ones are uncomfortable as all heck.

I am also stopping at VS to get the girls some gift cards, I am also going to hunt for some reasonably comfortable yet cute under stuff for my dress. I was going to get a bustier until i realized there was corset built in... duh!

I ordered a bolero (a little uncomfortable with back flab, and no matter how much toning i try to do, it will not go away. Slight improvement, but still there dangit! Plus im a total nervous sweater. Didnt want people coming in for hugs and getting stuck to my back. I opted for a black one as my sash is black. This will only be worn for the reception, not ceremony.

I paid off my ptographer and got cashiers checks for all other vendors! HUGE CHECK! I was so woried as we have been semi tight on cash, but it all worked out. Anyway, that was my last 24 hours

Our big days are fast approaching and at this point, everyone is starting to feel the stress of planning, people not cooperating, and financial worries. I think it is important that we need to remind ourselves what is most important in all of this...that we are marrying the love of our life, our best friend. It's not the flowers, the cake, the favors, or the food. Sure, all those are important to make the day just right, but in the big picture....it's being with our families and friends in celebrating one of life's biggest journies....marriage. We're all going to walk down that aisle to our men and say "I do."

Take the time to breathe and take a break from it all....your sanity is more important than favors. We should be enjoying this time and no one wants to be remembered as a bridezilla. Just remember what's truly important, and it will all work out.

This past week as been one of the worst I've had in a long time but through it all some things are starting to get finished.

My grandma is doing really well after my grandpa passed. She's been talking about the wedding a lot and has already picked out her outfit! I'm glad she has something to look forward too.

Before everything happened with my grandpa, my mom, sister (MOH), and I went shopping to get the majority of the wedding stuff still needed. We ended up purchasing:
Eight jars for the candle table. Four came from Goodwill, one from Joanne's that we got a great deal on (yay for coupons), and one from Michael's that was super on sale.
We puchased some of the candy for the candy buffet - skittles, hot tamales, mints, laffy taffy, and M&M's so far.
We bought all the cups from GFS and got an amazing deal; 2 cases for the price of one, how awesome!!!
At Joanne's we also purchased fabric for the centerpieces to sit on and found a lady that would surge (whatever that means) them for only $1 each!
I also bought some smaller stuff like signs for the candy buffet. I found these chalkboard garden markers that I am going to jazz up to fit our theme but they were only $1 for 4 so I bought three packages.

The invitations went out on Wednesday and while I haven't gotten any RSVPs back yet I've heard from a lot of people that they love them so that makes me really happy!

I did commit one major invite faux pas though :( I sent an invitation to my grandpa's sister who is my aunt Rosalie. For some reason it never, ever occurred to me that she no longer (and hasn't for many, many years) has the same last name as my grandpa. So.... I addressed her invite to Mrs. Rosalie P. and wrote the same thing on the shower invite address that I gave to my sister. Needless to say my mom received a phone call from her the other day asking that her daughters know that her last name is not P. OOPS!!! I guess out of 95 invites, one mistake isn't terrible!

Things are slowly coming together for this wedding and I have to be honest to say that I cannot wait for it to be May 26th! I am ready to dance and enjoy all this hard (and stressful) work!!

I found out tonight my dad isn't going to dance with me at my reception. Apparantly, dancing in public is a huge phobia for him and he didn't even dance with my mom at their wedding. He isn't budging on the issue either. I'm still insisting FI dance with his mom, but I just feel like I am going to feel like an idiot sitting there during the parent dances because my dad won't dance with me.

Then, during conversation about my rehearsal dinner dress, FI announced lace is for underwear and dresses with lace on them are old fashioned and he doesn't like it....my wedding dress is all lace! He had no idea, but hearing that 2 months before the wedding is not helpful! I know he's going to love the dress on me, but I wished he didn't have such a strong dislike for lace. He's mentioned he didn't like lace before, but for some reason hearing that tonight caused a breakdown. I immediatly started crying and confessed my wedding dress has lace and now he feels like a big asshole. I don't even think he realized lace dresses are in now.

I'd like to start by saying I know I've made two HUGE mistakes here - I am fully aware that I need to accept the consequences but I really need advice and input on what you would do if you were me.

So, literally a week after being engaged, I went to a bridal store and bought the first dress I thought I loved. I fell out of love with it a couple months later, and of course it's not returnable, and I have to figure out something to do. Well, Mom said go find another dress, but she's not paying. So, I found a photo of a dress I was totally obsessed with and after thinking about it for a couple of weeks I sought out someone to make it. I enlisted "Shades of Pale" located in China via email to make this dress for me.

Yes, stupid, I know. I really wanted that darn dress and couldn't find it anywhere and I was stubborn and determined.

Well, communication with SOP was awesome for the first couple of months. They'd always respond within a day or so of my emails. Now that the time has passed when they originally told me the dress would be ready and I would be receiving pictures of it (mid February), I've started bothering them, and they took literally a week and a half to respond to my 3 emails I sent them in that time. There's no reason this should have happened, holidays or anything. I also got no explanation for what was taking so long.

Now, they're telling me that the dress "should be ready around the middle of this month." Okay, so my bridal portraits are April 8 and they knew that. Somehow this is taking a month longer than originally quoted and the dress more than likely will not arrive on time, assuming it does ship mid-March.

One of the reasons I went with them is because they have a return policy. Right now all we've paid them is $265 - half the cost of my dress to get started making it. I'm pretty sure I can cancel the order right now and get that money back - or at least open a paypal claim.

So here is what I want everyone's opinion on: what should I do now? Cancel the dress, get my money, and start shopping hoping to find a sample on sale I love? Or keep harassing SOP hoping it will light a fire and have them get things done quickly when they may or may not answer me promptly/honestly?

Ugh. This sucks. I know it's 100% my fault for making stupid moves but now I need to find a way out of this mess.

Thanks everyone.

I know ive vented about her before...but this time..im done...

bacherlorette party issues..i posted before that I basically have planned it. Well the hotel i found the cheapest, was basically a hoax cuz they charge $10 per person if you have more than 2 ppl in a room!! CRAZY!!! AND we would have to have two rooms for the ONE extra person (we wanted 5 ppl)...w/e soo the other hotel that i found that was cheaper was down in the city (which is what we were going to do originally).. But no one wants to drive down there (40 minutes away)..

SOOO i basically (in less words) told them all that we are going to the city, to this bar/restaurant/arcade place...and thats where we are having the party...if you dont want to drive down there...too bad and dont come.

I EVEN said that im driving down there..soo if ppl didnt want to drive they could ride with me...but none of them are coming..

except for my other MOH and 3 ppl WHO ARENT BRIDESMAIDS AND TWO OF THEM LIVE OUTTA STATE!!

SOOO my MOH/sister, told me then that she doesnt have to do the food for my bridal shower..and she can make all of the other BMs do the food... I told her.. YOU THE F****ing MOH YOU HAVE TO DO SOMETHING..so i told her to make the food for the shower..or drop out of the wedding..cuz making the food is the ONLY thing she has done thus far for the wedding.. and she doesnt want to do it...

i really should have just eloped..im so done with this and her and I cannt wait till after the wedding, i probably wont talk to her for awhile. she is making everything so much harder than it is, and doesnt even want to help me stick the addresses on the envelopes!!!

thanks for listening!!!
