So some of you may remember I posted last week asking if it was too soon to go flower girl dress shopping since DB told me 2months before the wedding is when I should come in. Well we took the girls this weekend. And thank god! We found this very cute pick up ball gown that we could get in colors. Well after the girls tried them on & loved them we decided to get the youngest in Tangerine with the Horizon bow & the older girl in Horizon with a Tangerine bow. Nope! When they went to input our order into the computer it said we couldn't get the Tangerine in time. So they called corp to try to get an override. Nope. I was hesitant to order & started asking if I ordered when would the dresses & sashes be in? Not till Sept 26!! Cutting it close aren't we! Goodness so I decided both the girls in Horizion with Tangerine sashes. They lady said she hates it when she hears other reps tell brides 2months for flower girls. So thank goodness you girls reassured me it wasn't too soon! But YAY! Flower girl dresses are ordered!!

Seriously!

FI and I found invites we both liked on weddingpaperdivas but I really have my heart set on pocketed invites. weddingpaperdivas only has maybe 6 colors of pocket folds to choose from (none of which would look good with the invites we picked out). I stumbled upon cardsandpockets.com. So I guess I could order the pocketfolds from them and attach the invite from weddingpaperdivas (making sure all the dimensions are correct, of course). Is that how that works? would that be our cheapest option? (trying to spend under $250 for 100 if possible) What would I use to attach it?

I also am not sure I "need" pocketed invitations (but they're so fancy!). The majority of them will only need an rsvp card. We only have maybe 15 that would need a card for directions or hotel accomodations. I just think pocketed invites make everything look more organized and reduces the risk of the little rsvp card/envelope getting lost.

ANY suggestions or help would be appreciated! I'm running out of time!

Argh... I have the most horrible awful toothache. This is so frustrating. I hate my teeth : /

I have really weak enamal and i swear it takes nothing for a cavity to develop. I went almost six years without going to the dentist because we didn't have insurance. The summer before my senior year we all went back and I swear I had to hae every tooth in my mouth filled. I bawled my eyes out for days. The dentist felt terrible for me, but I am now her star patient, haha. I had to have like 6 appts for stuff that summer. One tooth had to be pulled and my wisdon tooth came in and filled the spot up. The wisdom tooth was imperfect tho, and within a year I had to have it filled. I'm in pain now because the filling fell out (and I haven't even had it a year!!) but also another one of my teeth just plain hurts : ( I feel so pathetic,

I hate going to the dentist so much because I am just so afraid of what they're going to tell me is wrong now. I have an appt tomorrow. O, and I still have no insurance so I hate to think what this is going to cost me. And I cannot do this for two more months til I get on FI's insurance.

As a disclaimer, which is the part I hate the most. Having all these fillings just makes me feel so gross and bad about myself. I have very nice, white, straight teeth... that I take such good care of! I don't understand why I have to deal with all of this : (

Ok, done pouting now : )

We're planning our wedding long distance. We had found an officiant online and met with him when we were in town over 4th of July. Since we were kind of in a time crunch, we paid the $50 non-refundable deposit before our trip.

When we were in town, he forgot about our meeting and was 20 minutes late. When he finally got there, we asked him about himself/his views on marriage, and he spent 10 minutes explaining the pay structure (we had found him through a website that's essentially a broker, so he was explaining that it would cost more to cover the broker's fee). Then he spend the rest of the meeting doing a sales pitch about his wine box ceremony (which was a cool idea, but he presented it as if it would be the cornerstone of our marriage and would solve any problem we EVER faced as a couple..).

Needless to say, we weren't terrribly thrilled with him. We just found a different officiant that we like a lot better and want to work with. How do we go about firing him without it being awkward? I would just send him an email and call it a day, but the catch is - he's performing another ceremony at the same venue as ours an hour and a half after our ceremony!

I want some opinions! So my FSIL got my FG dress awhile ago at JCP. I hadn't thought about what our RB was going to wear until we were picking out our tuxes this weekend. (Which btw I think we decided on and they are way more reasonable than Men's Wearhouse! Thank goodness for local businesses!) They don't have a dark grey version for kids though, so the black option for him would still be $80! Yikes no! So I am going to find him a cute outfit somewhere else.
Here are the ones I like best. My colors are violet and a sage color green....but so far our wedding party will all have purple accents, with the girls in a Wisteria DB dress and the GM with purple ties. However, the FG dress does have some green in it. The purple dress shirt seems a little bright compared to everything, so I'm leaning towards the green.
What do you girls think and which color would you have him wear??

BM Dresses FG Dress (she won't be wearing the sweater at the ceremony)

RB Options:

Hi Ladies,

Last week I posted about having my boudoir shoot on Thursday. I wanted to circle back to you and let you know how it went. I found the experience to be really fun, despite my nerves at the outset. My photographer had a professional hair and makeup artist as part of the package, that was certainly a big help and it really boosted my confidence. Fake lashes are apparently a must. She recommended the individual lashes rather than the strips and they worked out well. All of the sample photos she showed me used some type of lash extension; they seem to make a big difference. I did 5 changes: his shirt with a white panty, his wedding tie with a white panty, white panty and my veil, blue and white bra/panty set (some with pearls some shots without and, taupe panty with a bed sheet.

The shoot took about 3 1/2 hours; I was surprised by how comfortable the photographer made me. Last week Rockstar gave some great advice, RELAX! Having a female photographer who understood the look I was going for and understood the basic insecurities of a woman made a big difference. After every few shots she told me that I looked beautiful, or said "he's going to love that".

If anyone is considering doing boudoir, I'd highly recommend it. It's a fun experience. Worst case, if you get the picture and hate them, you don't have to give them to FI or show them to anyone. I should have my "sneak peek" up mid-August and the final product (CD and album) mid-September. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they turned out. Thanks ladies for all of your encouragement!

ETA: I was surprised by how long it is going take to even see the sneak peek of my images. My photogpher also does weddings and that coupled with her other work has her really backed up. You definatley want to allow enough time to get your pics before the big day!

We're running our invite envelopes through our printer...I don't have nice script handwriting, hate the look of labels, and calligraphy isn't in the budget. This worked out really well for our STDs...a few envelopes got messed up, but it was pretty easy to do.

Today, we started this whole process for our invites and all hell broke loose! We started with outer envelopes and printer #1 (our laser printer). The printer smudged about every 3rd envelope to the point where you coudn't read the address clearly. So we gave up on that printer and moved to our 2nd printer (the ink jet). This stopped the smudging but the address would come out uncentered (like to the point where it was almost off the envelope) on a good number of envelopes. There was no rhyme or reason to this...it would work on a few envelopes in a row and then fail. (this pattern repeated pretty much all day). It's not like we couldn't get it set up at all...more like it would randomly stop working.

Originally, I ordered about 20 extra envelopes but now we're out of envelopes. We didn't even get to the inner envelopes or the response envelopes! I said bad words, FI said bad words, there may have been a bit of violence against the printer LOL!

So, I just ordered more of all 3 envelopes...more outer envelopes to finish up plus extra for when they mess up. Plus, I'm assuming this will be the problem for inner and response envelopes so I preemptively ordered more of those as well.

**sigh**

I've been trying to figure out what to get my bridesmaids as gifts. I was thinking a cute tote bag like this and filling them with a bunch of stuff from Bath and Body works, homemade cookies, and if I could afford it a little something personal for each of them. For example my one BM loves bird jewelry, so I would get her a cute necklace. Would you want this gift? I just want to make sure they know they're appreciated.

FI and I finally picked out his attire and the groomsmen attire this weekend. I can stop bugging him that we need to go do that. He still needs to ask 2 of his GM (I know, it's <3 months out, he needs to get on it!), but at least they'll be clothed.

We also went to the jeweler and picked out a wedding band for myself, but we're waiting to see how much it will cost before we order it. It's going to be less than what we had planned for, mostly since my fingers are tiny. FI is planning to get a tungsten band, so we aren't planning to get it from the nice jewelry store in town (I don't think they even sell tungsten bands). He did try on a couple of the sample bands to get an idea of what width he wants.

It's getting closer and I'm starting to only have the little things left (minus addressing and stuffing all the invitations)!

My FI and I are set to close on our house Wednesday at 1:30. This morning my attorney called to tell us there is a problem. The property is multiple lots. Apparently only some of the lots are the executor of the estate’s, the others are the deceased siblings/children and we don’t know the names of or where these other people are and they all have to sign the deed for the sale. The attorney doesn’t see how we could possibly close on Wednesday or now he says even in the next month. He’s asking us what we want to do. We don’t know what we want to do. We love this house and there isn’t anything else out there like it. We don’t know what to do. We’re also afraid of walking away and losing all the money we already put out toward this house. Help!!

I know I’m going to decorate them in some way, but I haven’t figured out how yet. I asked my sister her opinion, and she hated the idea and said it was cheesy.

I know the only opinion that matters in the end is mine, but I’m just curious for other people’s thoughts as well!

Just as a side note, the labels would be pale yellow, tan, and very understated.
