Happy Monday everyone! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was pretty good - but too short! Thank goodness for a holiday on Thursday . FI gets to work from home this week on Monday and Friday - I'm a BIT jealous

Did anyone do wedding things over the weekend? I did absolutely ZERO wedding related tasks this weekend. One cool thing I did was go to the AT&T National Golf Tourney in MD - one of my BM got tickets for a chalet on the 18th hole (fancy tent) that was free food and booze - despite the heat it was an awesome afternoon!

Would love to hear what everyone else did!

Who is walking you down the aisle? (Long post)

So I don't have the best relationship with my father and we are not very close so I have been stressing over who is going to walk me down the aisle if anyone. My sister got married a couple years ago and my father was not a part of the wedding at all and acted like it was totally normal that his daughter walked down by herself. We both thought that maybe he didn't quite understand how important this was supposed to be for a father so I thought it would be the same for my wedding. Well a couple months ago, I called my dad to ask him if he wanted to rent a tux (thinking this would give me my answer) and the response I got from him was "I don't think I want to do that". Ok then, there's my answer.

Fast forward to 3 weeks ago. I was in Florida visiting my sister and my dad decided to come down for the weekend (very surprising). The first day he was there, we were driving back from getting lunch and he asked me who is walking me down the aisle. I was speechless. All I could get out was that I hadn't thought about it yet. He asked me if I wanted him to walk me down so I of course said yes. He then mentioned that he will now have to rent a tux and I told him where he could go and if he wanted me to go with him, then I would. My sister and I were shocked and I could tell she was a little hurt but I basically told her I will believe it when I see it. Well, we have been back from Florida for a few weeks now and I haven't heard a word from him. I had a feeling this might happen and I told my sister that. My stepmom is not the nicest person in the world and controls everything my dad does. She isn't a fan of my sister or myself so for all I know, she may have told him no he's not doing that.

I am not sure what to do. Before my dad has asked me, I was considering having my brother walk me down. We are very close. Now, even if my dad doesn't walk me down, I can't have my brother either only because I don't want it to be a huge slap in the face for my dad. I am so confused!!!!

I'm feeling gif-y.

Most recent one was last week. We got an invite to a wedding for Aug. It had my name and guest. The bride and I have known each other for ten years, she's known my FI for the whole 5 years we've been together. She also knows we are getting married in October. Her RSVP where the postage is supposed to go, said "place stamp here", no postage included.

Last year my sister got married in August. Her H and her both got themselves NY Strip while the rest of us has broasted chicken. She then complained that her pepper steak was too peppery. She tried telling me it is common for the B&G to have different food than the other guests. She didn't believe me when I told her it was completely rude and guests make bad assumptions to that.

What are some good things that happened this week?

Today I work until 11 and then will be opening our rummage sale for the last weekend. We reduced prices so hopefully pretty much everything will get sold. We will be doing it all weekend.

Tonight we are going to a bar closing party where everything that is currently opened is $1 a drink. That shall be interesting. Luckily it is only for regulars.

Something good this week?

I found out we're under budget so far.

My garden is growing and my tomatos are budding.

We had our engagement photos yesterday! This was also a meet and greet of our photographer and family photos (Abby was in all of them). We had a blast and we absolutely LOVE our photographer. He showed us a few shots on his viewer and they looked great! This is quite a feat because I hate pictures of myself. I'm looking forward to seeing all of them. He had some really cute ideas for shots. How is everyone else's weekend going?

i must brag that i finally finished my invites. !!!!!. they're nothing fancy or super complicated, but they're me and i'm happy with them. the only thing missing is the purple twine i'll be using to tie them closed. total cost? $115 + $72 for postage (you're welcome, usps. GEEZ.). i'd say i did pretty well!

i'll be finishing the assembly tonight/tomorrow and sending 'em out this week and i don't care if it's too early. i'm DONE.

still need to decide on cake & music, find rings, and make table cards & centerpieces & bouquets. rent some chairs. not sure if i'm doing ceremony programs. i think that's not too bad?

Hi all! Thought I'd introduce myself. I've been a member of the knot for a while, nut have just recently discovered the community msg boards. My fiance & I are in our 30s &we both have children from previous marriages. We met through an online dating site (to be honest, he was the sites last chance for redemption bc I had met some doozies already & definitely did not expect to meet THE ONE on there). Not exactly how I expected to meet the man of my dreams, but life is great at surprising you! It's been a whirlwind to say the least. We dated for a whopping 3 months before he proposed & we've set the date for October 5th. Sooo, I only gave myself 7 months to plan the wedding (what was I thinking???) BUT I've gotten a LOT of ground covered and the event coordinator at our chosen venue has been VERY helpful (couldn't have asked for better service!) Doesn't hurt that my guy is very hands on w/ the wedding planning so I get a lot of help & support. I still have my freak out moments of how much there is left to do & how quickly October seems to be getting here. How to clean back (interior) of car

I have an SUV - so it isn't the trunk, but the back portion..

Anyway, yesterday was my niece's baptism. From the church to the luncheon, a HUGE floral arrangement was in the back of my car. All was fine and good. From the restaurant to home, it fell over. Water came out of the vase/holder thing, but it didn't seem like a big deal.

This morning, I get in my car for work, and it SMELLS. Awful. I pride myself on keeping my car clean (and smelling good) and this is driving me crazy. It's 92 in NJ today, so when I went home on lunch, I practically gagged.

I have a wet vac, but since it's a car, it doesn't seem like the easiest thing to do. Any cleaning mixtures you know of that will take away this smell? Or, a bucket of water and dish detergent? Any ideas??

Hello Brides!

Have you all started thinking about seating charts? I know there's been talk about various ways to seat guests (some with assigned seating, some with only assigned tables and some with totally open seating).

I am looking for anyone who has thoughts on how to display a chart for assigned tables. I am not concerned about which seat each person sits in, just their table. I found some digital files for purchase from Etsy and I've emailed the sellers to see if I have to provide them with the guests names or if they hand over a digital file that I can enter the information on to. I worry about making a purchase and someone else not getting me a product in time for the wedding.

I'd like to see any ideas you ladies may have.

Old NAvy FLip FLop Sale

I know some of you were looking to get flip flops for your reception. I ran out to Old NAvy at lunch today and they had a sign saying their $1 flip flop sale is 6/29 and the stores open at 7am.

They also have their wedge flip flops on sale for $5 - I got a pair of white ones for myself for the reception so my dress doesn't drag while dancing! (I read that somewhere on here and thought it was an excellent idea!)
