I've been figuring out the boards for a week or so and this definitely seems to be the one for me to call home! We're getting hitched in Maine September 17th, which is where my FI is originally from. I didn't want to have a big Virginia wedding...The ceremony is at an outdoor amphitheatre overlooking the harbor and we're going on a windjammer cruise for cocktail hour.  I'm working on a theme but so far I've got the man and a bitchin cake topper so I figure the rest has to be easy ;)

I'm trying to figure out all the siggy stuff so hopefully I won't be the incorrect html queen of the offbeat board.

My FI and I are planning on a May 2012 wedding in our hometown in Upstate NY.  We are planning from Colorado, so it's been going slow!  We are thinking of a picnic-type affair and I am hoping to get a travelling wood-fired pizza oven for our food (yum!).  Also, I am hoping to have the ceremony on the mountain where my FI used to live and where we spent a lot of time in the beginning of our relationship.  The location I am thinking of is a historical site, but also backs up to a medium-security prison, so we will have to see how that pans out!  :)

WR-hair trial tomorrow morning!!!!! Then my best friend and I are gonna go to the hotel me and my groom will be staying at wedding night. I am gonna be getting ready for the wedding in the room. it is a completely remodeled historic hotel, so we are gonna scope out some places to have the photographer do some bridal shots before the wedding. It is a beautiful place, marble everywhere!!!

Anyways, I got a random AIM message from my boy today. "I want to go to Kauai. Can we?"
 I told him sure, because, honestly I just want to go somewhere with him, but then I thought to ask him why.

"Because it has a combination of warm beaches, snorkeling and scuba diving, rich lush rainforests, mountain hiking, and gorgeous waterfalls. It's also the least tourist-infested of the islands. And they shot Jurassic Park there and if we want to we can ride atvs through that field where all those dinosaurs killed those people."

The last part is his favorite part.

So, I have a dilemma. I have been eyeing this particular designer and dress online for a few weeks and finally got up the nerve to call the one store in town that carries her designs. I went in today and they had THE dress!! I'd tried some on similar to it, but always wanted to alter them to make it "perfect" but this dress had it all. No adds or take-aways needed. Only problem is, the sample size they had was a super small one. At other places I fit the sample size (at least enough to put it on and see how it'd look when I had it in my size) but here I couldn't even get it past my thighs! I felt horrible. They said I could just order/buy it and try it on when it's in...but that means buying a dress w/o trying it on! I can't get my head around it. Would you? 

It's a way better price than I even imagined (only $800 after a store discount special--which is crazy because all the other dresses I'd tried on were a lot more for less of what I wanted.)

 Part of me wants to go back and buy it, but another part is like...you'll never try it on till you own it!. ...suggestions, thoughts, ideas? I love it, but I can't get over not having tried it on. Ugh! The stress! :)

My guitar case for the cardbox just came in! and so did my drumsticks for the escort cards.

I should be studying for a test right now, so naturally I designed a template for the escort cards, printed it up and made a mock up. I love it! The names and table numbers are printed on both sides. Now I just need to make the box to hold them in (just a shallow box lined with styrofoam and covered with red stones so they'll stick up).
