New to the board?? READ THIS FIRST!!

Welcome to the Pittsburgh Board of The Knot!  

Thanks for joining us here. We hope that you find this board as helpful and as fun as possible.

When you are new to the knot, somethings can be confusing, such as commonly used abbreviations, changing your signature line, and working on your planning bio. To help give all newbies a quick "knottie 101", the Pittsburgh brides have prepared this helpful site!

As you begin planning your wedding, you will want recommendations and warnings on specific vendors, please visit our vendor directory for reviews.

All the ladies on here have put a lot of time and effort in making sure the vendor lists and the welcome page are up-to-date. Please take a few minutes and view these before you start posting. Of course, if you miss something we can still help you, but keep in mind that some knotties may re-direct you to this post.  

As you begin posting, if you have any questions, comments, or issues please contact the moderator, mdphd, by private message. You can send a private message by going to a knotties profile and clicking "private message" at the end of that knotties signature line. The Knot isn't great at alerting people when they have mail, so please "page" the moderator(or whoever you sent the private message to) on the board by posting a new message with the knotties name that you sent the mail to in the subject line, for example if you were sending a post to me it would say, "**mdphd**" as the subject of a new post. If your signature is old - log out/log in and it should refresh.  If that doesn't work, on the left side under Community Links, click on Update Profile, then Edit Profile and press save.  It should refresh the code you already have there.Knot TV - although the Knot strongly encourages you to watch Knot TV, if it causing problems with your page or difficulty loading the page, see the Pittsburgh knottie 101 page for instructions on how to make the TV disappear. 
To find your posts, click the magnifying glass in your replyTo sort by most recent thread, check the Sort By Most Recent Post boxTo sort by most recent reply, uncheck the Sort By Most Recent Post boxIf you get an Error page, simply refresh your page or press the back button on your browserIf you want to read a post that has multiple pages and you want to skip to the last page, click on the post count or how many minutes/hours ago a post was written and it will take you to the last page

The brides on here are extremely helpful. Please keep in mind when posting that sometimes you need a "thick skin" because the ladies will give you their honest opinion, which might sting a little at times, but remember they are only trying to help.
