XP- Tea for Two

On a whim, DH and I were in Teavania in the mall. He fell in love with everything. Our order added up quickly, and when they started weighing out tea at something like $15-19 per ounce (!!!!!!!) I ran out of the store. After that near $700 experience, DH found a much less expensive little tea brewing machine. Now is where I need your help. Any ideas on places other than Home Goods where you can get inexpensive but tasty loose tea? Any recommendations on yummy teas to try. My lunch time trip to Home Goods today resulted in the purchase of a chocolate mint tea that I am really excited to try!

  • Try www.theteatable.com . I only ordered from there once (I'm not an avid tea drinker) but it was wonderful, and they include free samples! My friends who are very much into tea order from there all the time.

  • Hey!! Huge tea fanatic here. Some of my favorite tea brands that do loose tea are Stash, Republic of Tea, and TeaGschwendner. You can get them all online! My favorite Stash teas are double bergamot Earl Grey and Chai Spice, my fave RoT is ginger peach, and TG the best are Green Coconut and Arabian Night IMHO. That's flavored teas anyhoo. I could go on; feel free to PM me!
  • I used to live in a small town called Greencastle that had a FABULOUS coffee/tea shop. I bought a TON of loose teas there for my family who are tea drinkers.

    Can't recommend them highly enough.

  • I've ordered from Republic of Tea online for gifts and myself.  I don't purchase the loose tea and I'm also not very adventurous when it comes to the different flavors.  But they have a great selection and offer the loose tea.  Their catalogs also come with free samples.
