Tall groomsmen, short bridesmaids, help!

We have four of each gender, yet all of the groomsmen are taller than the bridesmaids. For example, two  of the men are over 6 foot, the tallest bridesmaid is 5'3 without heels. So here's our question, how should they link arms as they walk down the aisle if the groomsmen's elbow is higher than most of the maids? The bride does want want them to walk down together. Any other suggestions or ideas of how they can walk down? Thanks!

    Seriously?

    No, seriously?

The bride is freaking nuts, and officially overthinking.  The guy puts out his arm, and the girl grabs onto it.  They don't link elbows like the Wizard of Oz.  Guys are generally taller than girls.  No one in the history of the world has felt this was an issue.  FI is nearly a foot taller than me, we walk arm in arm all the time.

This may be the most ridiculous question I've seen in the entire time I've been posting on the Knot, and I've seen some doozies.  This is the point where the bride needs to take some time off from wedding planning, because she's starting to lose it.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. • well that was extremely unhelpful but thanks bunches for taking the time to type that rude response, kthanks.
  • You need to get a hobby.  That was excellent advice.  This is absolutely ridiculous.
  • This is going to sound rude but I do not intend it to be that way - but do you and the bride realize that men generally are taller than women? Is the groom taller than the bride? How will they walk down the aisle?

Seriously, they can walk down the aisle just fine together. Guy sticks out arm, girl grabs it, and away they go. Our BM is about a foot taller than the MOH and they made it down the aisle just fine - here is a picture:

  • If it really is that hard for them to link elbows, just have the guy put his elbow out and the girl can grab onto it with her hand, rather than her elbow.
  • I should have also mentioned - we also had the reverse - our shortest groomsmen is very short for a guy, and the shortest bm kind of towered over him in heels, but I'llbedarned they still made it down the aisle.

  • ...I thought this was a joke at first...then I realized it's just a sad, sad post.  I wish we could all just take a breather and stop asking questions about every last little detail.  I know most of us have never done this wedding thing before, but really help me pick my shoes, boys are taller than girls, whatever shall I do, etc.  really?

On a serious note, don't do anything about it.  Throw them into the shark tank known as the rehearsal, and see if they're smart enough to figure it out.

  • Last time I was a BM, I walked with a guy who was OVER a foot taller than me. No biggie. he put out his arm, I grabbed on, and he tool shorter steps so I could keep up.

  • How about fire them and find BMs and GMs that are the same height?

  • I wonder if she's going to come back and see how "mean" everyone else was, or if we scared her off.

I'm still baffled by this question.  I still vote this the most ridiculous question I've seen in nearly a year and a half on the boards, unless someone comes by asking us how to walk.  "Someone told me I just have to put one foot in front of the other, but if I'm not standing on both feet, won't I fall?"

  • Maybe they should amputate all the mens' legs below the knee to even things up better.

I agree with aerin that this is probably the most ridiculous question ever on the Knot.

  • are you serious? hmm i'd tell her to calm way down. um the groomsmen i would assume are almost always taller than the maids. guys are usually taller than girls. either link arms or just have the guy hold out his are like they were going to link & have the girls hold it. not hard. i'm 4'11 & i walked in my sisters wedding with a 6 foot tall guy.
  • they don't have to touch, or even walk in pairs!

  • This is not worth worrying about.  Seriously just relax and move onto real issues like whether or not your MIL wants to go on your honeymoon.
