Inexpensive bridesmaid dress suggestions?

Just curious if anyone has any tips on places/designers that have a wide selection of bridesmaids dresses that are affordable.  My bridesmaids are all different shapes and sizes (seriously, think of every polar opposite body type possible - they're all in my bridal party) so I'm hoping to be able to pick a line of dresses and a color and then they can pick their own style so everyone gets to look nice but still match.  Problem is almost every line I've found with that type of selection has a pretty high price point.  One of my bridemaids in particular is on a very strict budget, and I offered to buy her dress but she doesn't want me to. I've been a bridesmaid when I was in college and broke and I remember how much a $200 dress killed my bank account, so I want to avoid doing that to her.

I'm hoping I can find something affordable (hopefully near $100 or even less) that will still let everyone look their best.  Anyone know of a place to look? so far David's bridal is all I've got, but they don't have many options in the color I want.  looking for something short but not casual (fiancee is in the air force and will be wearing uniform along with most groomsmen)

Target, Mori Lee, and Alfred Angelo might be good places to look.  Don't forget about department stores either. My ladies got dresses ranging from $130 to $180 by Alfred Sung (Dessy Group).

You could just give them a colour and length and perhaps material and let them buy their own dresses.  Here are some options, though:

Have you considered the twist or wrap dresses that are very popular these days? That's what I'm going with for my bridesmaids. I found a woman on Etsy that makes them in various colors and styles. For the long gown it will cost my bridesmaids $130 and the shorter one is about $90. Check her out on Etsy.. Staysi Lee.

I also suggest looking at dresses that are not labeled as bridesmaid dresses. After being told that I could not get a bridesmaid dress for less than $125, I started to look at dresses for holiday cocktail parties. I eventually found a red lace dress from Nordstom Rack for $47.00. However I also saw some lovely Tadashi Shogi dress for $130-$150.

Have you tried Alfred Angelo?
My daughter picked a color (light blue) and told the girls they could get any short style they wanted.  She had three bridesmaids, all in slightly different shades of hydrangea blue, and it was lovely.

My BM got their dresses from Deb dress shops. They didn't pay more than $25 for them. We found a cute black and turquoise dress that wouldn't just have to be a one time dress either.

I think we might go this route too. They have a lot of cute options the coordinate perfectly.

We found my MOH and Bridesmaid dresses at JCP on clearance!  Long black dresses of different styles both originally $100 paid $49.99.  They are beautiful.  They are not labeled "bridesmaid" dresses but will serve the purpose very well.  Both girls have different shapes but were able to find dresses to flatter each one.  A lot of the time its the color of the dress not the style that makes the difference which is why we went with black.

I found mines at JCrew, but only because they were having a huge sale, I paid between 80$ to 150$ instead of 290$ for each dress. I got all different styles and they're all very flattering to each bridesmaid (all my bridesmaids have different body shapes) so I got 1 one-shoulder, 1 strapless and 1 v-neck, same color and fabric, same length, different necklines. They're not the cheapest but sometimes they have great deals... some of my B.M were happy to pay for their dress as well, which helps, if not go with the look not the brands, it's just one day and what matters if that they all look pretty and happy! I would definitely try the "regular" (and non-fancy dress focused) stores, like Macy's, JCPenny, Nordstom's Rack, even Sears!

I would second Jcrew, especially if you can get a good sale! Ann Taylor/Loft as well has nice dresses that look good on all body types and are comfortable.
