Too excited/stressed to go to sleep. Counting the minutes til I can give FI's son his snake. I am amazed I have managed to hide a snake for a month! Definitely stressing about having Christmas dinner at our place with FIL's and my BFF and her FI. Hoping for the best, but expecting some drama from FMIL.I basically need to manage to get dinner and dessert ready and 90% of my gifts from FI put away before she gets here. Also need to hide the bulk of the wine, I made sure there is plenty but if she sees a case of wine she will plan to help drink a case and she is nasty to me when she is drunk.

    Yay! FI's son LOVES the snake! Though he seems to forget I used to work at a reptile store he was interrogating me as to whether I took care of him properly the last month while it was hidden :)

    It didn't go well at all. She showed up with an 18 pack and an air mattress so she could get drunk and stay the night. Spent forever complaining that I was breaking FI's ex wife's tradition by not making a turkey. Was upset my best friend and her FI joined us since it was a family holiday. Told my friend she was a bad Jew for making non kosher appetizers. Fought with FI when he told her to cool it on the booze. Stole a whole pack of cigarettes out of my purse then claimed they were hers. And ended the night by trying to get us to sleep in the living room so she could use our bed since she doesn't think it's appropriate for us to share a bed. I responded by storming off to bed with a bottle of wine, but FI was no longer in the mood for CHristmas sex.

    So sorry you had to go through this. I would have called her a cab and told her she can sleep in her own bed due to her rude childish behavior. Poor girl.

    She is still here. I woke up in time to see her giving FI's son pie for breakfast so now I get a kid on a sugar high for the 3 hour drive to my grandparents. FI is trying to get her to leave, but was nice enough to send me back to bed and brought me coffee.
