New to board/outdoor reception ideas?

Hi,

We just chose our wedding date of 12/10/10. It will be a family-only ceremony/dinner, at the site of our very first date: Zin in Delafield. Should be nice!

We would like to have an outdoor reception in June 2011. Possibly at a park, pavillion, or other outdoor location. There will be approximately 150 people. Something casual but nice. Possibly a pig roast; fully catered.

Any suggestions for locations in western Waukesha county area? I know of a few parks, but I don't think we can reserve those until early January 2011, correct?

I am open to your suggestions and ideas! Thank you!

Just saw your post and am doing something similar fo our wedding. I absolutly fell in love with Old Word Wisconsin. They not only have an upper barn area (beautiful) but also ofer an outdoor pavilion.

Also if you haven't found a photographer yet we booked with Katie Toman Pgotography and she ofered to do both the wedding and then reception next August for a flat fee, and she has some really creative ideas.

I am curious how many people you are having for your reception? We are having about 35 for a very nice dinner in December and then maybe 150 for the reception in June.

I don't know if there are many like us, splitting up the ceremony/dinner and reception to follow months later? It sure would be nice to bounce some ideas off of you. To hear how and when you are doing things.

For instance, any idea about showers? When? Or registering for items? When?

Additionally, we live in separate cites, so we need to sell our condos and figure out where the heck we will live!

OMG!!! I thought we were the only ones doing a pig roast! Its one of the things that I'm most excited about for the reception! Yay!
