AW: I tried on some dresses

This past weekend my mom came down and we did some dress shopping. After trying on a million dresses, I narrowed it down to these four. I'm trying them on again Friday night when I have an appointment. Hopefully I can say yes to the dress. Sorry I edited my face out, I don't want FI somehow finding me on here and seeing what the dress looks like (yes, I'm traditional!).

Let me know what you ladies think!

You already know I'm all about #3. Seeing the photos of you in that dress make me think I want to eventually try on something in that shape, although I've been pretty set on mermaid/fit&flare. It just looks SO pretty on you.

However, if I MUST pick a second choice, I'd go with #2.

  • I love the fit of the second dress! I don't know why but I kept going for the dresses with the tulle skirt too and they didn't really do a lot for me to be honest. It is a whole lot prettier on you! Honestly..I'm between 2 and 3. They're both gorgeous and they make you look amazing!

  • I like number 4 the best - I'm all for being different!  So glad you found some to choose between!!  So exciting!
I guess, to tell you the truth, I've never had much of a desire to grow facial hair. I think I've managed to play quarterback just fine without a mustache. - Peyton
  • I like #3 best (Alfred Angelo Disney Fairy Tail Wedding Cinderella) - HA didn't even need to look it up because I've been eyeballing it myself!.

  • I like number 3 or number 4. They're all really pretty, though!
  • #3 is my favorite followed VERY closely by #2. I think you look great in all of them though :)

  • You already I vote for #2 all the way! It makes your waist look tiny and overall I think it's the most sliming on you. #3 is a very close 2nd for me. I will say that I prefer much more simple dresses though, so that may be swaying my decision a bit. I don't think you can go wrong with 2 or 3 though! Good luck choosing at your next appointment!
  • #2 and #3 are a tie for me. I think you look awesome in both of those dress!

  • Thanks ladies! I think I'm leaning towards number 3 if they can take out a few layers of tulle and I can find a belt to add some more crystals to it. I love a lot of detail and crystals and even though dress 4 was WAY more elaborate, it just was cut weird and the neckline isn't that flattering.

I think a belt would look gorgeous on that dress! If you try it on again with a belt pleeeeaase AW more photos!

  • 3 is especially my favorite, but I like 4 too.

  • @buddysmom80 I know it doesn't show in the picture - but for Dress 3, how did you feel about the back of it?  I know online I thought it was pretty plain.

  • I'm between #2 and #3 (with #3 edging out #2).  You look beautiful in all of them though!

The back was pretty plain, and I tried the dress on with the skirt without the crystals so I think if you were going for the route of "just a little sparkly" it would be fine. It's not a corset back either which some people like/don't like. I didn't have a preference.

  • You're going to be one hot bride. My vote is for #3.
  • #3 with a belt!!

  • I want a corset back because I'm HOPING to lose weight before the wedding.  I know a lot of places will tell you when you start going for your fittings to 'stop trying to lose weight' about 2 months before, but if you're on a roll and want to continue, I don't want to be limited... especially when you could easily lose an additional 5-15lbs (which could make a difference in the fit).

  • @buddysmom80 I think if you took out a little tulle and added a belt that would totally make #3 for me! I agree with your assessment of #4. Honestly, I'm a bit biased against it because I wore a dress with a essentially the same cut cut to my junior prom and in between the color and the weird way it cut across my body looking back it just wasn't flattering. Plus I really like the neckline of #3 the best!

  • #3 followed by #2!! You look beautimous!

  • I like the beading in #1 but the rest of the dress for #3 looks great.

  • You look great in all of them, but my vote is for number 3.  There's just something about that one that stands out above the rest.

  • I looked at all the pictures before looking at ANYONE's comments and I am in love with #3. The other three don't have necklines that are nearly as flattering. My second favorite is #2, but it just doesn't make my jaw drop as much. It's a bit more figure flattering than #3, but the top isn't as great on you. And #3 is much more of a statement, in a good way.

  • I also vote #3 :)
  • Thanks everyone! I'm going to try on #3 again and just spend an hour in it tonight to see how I feel. I really really really love the dress with the crystals in the skirt, but the train may be a little too long.

    ZOMG I'M SO EXCITED!

  • I thought I read on Alfred Angelo's site that they can customize the dress for you.  Maybe they can shorten the train.  I originally did not want a train at all (I'm having second thoughts now) and they said I could do a permanent bustle . . . I wonder if they could do like a 1/2 bustle or something where they only pull the train up a little bit so you still have length but then have a little 'visual' interest in the back.

Here's the back of the dress (sorry I kinda took over)

  • @dignity100 I just saw your last post (sorry!). I think the train is a little too big for my ceremony space, so if they could literally cut the train in half, I'd be happy. If not, take the whole thing off. I'm worried about the bustle since there's so much tulle but I'm sure they'll suggest something.
