Renaissance Place or Miller Room at Coast

I just wanted some opinions. We can't decide between The Renaissance Place and The Miller Room at Coast for the reception. My fiance and I LOVE The Renaissance Place and we found a caterer we really like a lot. However, The Miller Room is also nice and would be about $2000- 2500 cheaper. We haven't tasted their food yet and we haven't heard the best things about the Zilli caterers in general. My father said he would pay for the reception and both my parents are really impressed with the RP and how organized and helpful they are, but not so much with the Zilli group. So, should we go with the place we all really like a lot and spend more money, or go with the cheaper venue that would still make for a nice wedding?

My friend got married in June and ha dher reception at the Miller Room. It is in a great location and the food was really good!

If the extra expense won't be a burden on your parents, I would go with the venue you want. RP is beautiful (but out of our price range). Is it an option to do a friday or Sunday and cut down the minimum? Or if venue is a big priority, try cutting in other places, like favors, do diy invites/programs, etc. Good luck!

RP is gorgeous... my S&BIL had their wedding there last year.. it truly was beautiful. They have a great list of caterers to choose from!

Thanks for your comments! We are going with RP. The decision was made when they called my father to tell him someone else is asking about the same date! I'm already planning on DIY invites and flowers from supermarkets!
