So I really love to bake. The deliciousness part, I've got down. The making it pretty part? Not so much. My mom got me a pro baking kit for Christmas, this was my 1st go round with it. FI's birthday is tomorrow, he loves superman.

Nailed it. Lol. I know fondant and regular icing (this was jar icing, not even homemade buttercream) are never going to have the same look. And It's not thaaaat bad for my 1st time but yeah... I have a bit to learn yet.

    I don't think it looks that bad! The only thing that is a little off is the Superman logo, but that thing is a bitch to get right. A few more cakes, and you'll be a pro!

    I can't ever get anything I make to look like the magazine picture. But it's tasty, and that's all H cares about. As H always says about gift wrap and lingerie: I want what's underneath, I don't care about the wrapping!

    This is way better than the laptop cake I tried to make FH for his birthday 2 years ago, haha. But it really is a good effort and as long as you have the delicious part down, that's all that matters :)

    You get an A for effort :)  As long as it's delicious it doesn't matter what it looks like!

    I do think you should turn it into an official pinterest-type "Nailed it" meme though :)  My friends and I do that with our food/craft projects that vary amusingly from the "inspiration" photos.
