Bridal Expo this weekend in Brookfield

Hi, I am planning on attending the Bridal expo Sunday in Brookfield, does anyone know how much time I should plan on spending there.   I'm getting married in Kenosha so I'm not sure now many vendors will travel that far? Thanks, Kim

My FI and I are going too. I have no idea what to expect, but it's worth a shot!

My Mom(the MOB) and MOH (Maiof Honor:) ) and I are going...I would think there will be  more vendors than you think for your area...unless the Kenosha vendors attend the one in IL?? But I think you are more likely to catch them in WI. I am going to get there around noonish (probably more like 12:30 as I have a friends Bachelorette Party the night before in Chicago...YIKES) and plan on walking around until the fashion show starts....hoping to get a lot in before the show....so if you don't plan on watching the fashion show most people have told me 2-3 hrs and you will be pooped. Bring pre-printed address labels too...that way you aren't spending half your day writting down your name, address,etc...Have fun!!

Is this at the Sheridan? This was a few years ago but we spent about an hour, maybe a little more looking at vendor booths.  I didn't fill out any forms or sweepstakes because the sweepstakes tend to be rip offs and the forms just get you never ending phone calls and junk mail.  I collected a lot of brochures to go through so I could research the company more.  The fashion show was OK.  I think Eva's did the year I went so the dresses are nothing spectacular.  Mainly ones you see in the magazines.

Agree with pp. I did that one last summer. I think I spent about 2 hours going through everything, but I filled out every form and it became a pain later with all the calls. About an hour would suffice. If you do enter contests, bring address labels and all you have to fill out is your phone number. I did win a nice jewelry set (2 earrings a braclet and a necklace) one year from the door prize. Be sure to fill that one out.

I went in June and it wasn't that great.  There were a lot of photographers and DJ's though.  There was only 1 Limo Company, no cake making places either - which kinda sucked.  They had the Mary Kay and the Lia Sophia tables which I was NOT interested in.  The initial card you fill out must be given to all the vendors because I NEVER stopped at the Fred Astaire booth yet they still got my name and number to call me and tell me I won a free dance lesson. Ha ha - guess you can win without even entering.  Some, not all, of the DJ's were very pushy and wanted you to sign up that day and pay your deposit that day in order to get a deal.  Overall the one at the Sheraton was not all that helpful for me.  But I just wasn't looking for what they had though - I didn't stop at invite places or jewelry places etc...

I also attended the one in the summer and was EXTREMLEY dissapointed. I needed cake, catereres, florist, and staionary. Not to mention, I didnt eat lunch, expecting samples and I was starving by fashion show time. And the fashion show, not enough bridesmaid samples. I still need these vendors, and I am hoping this Sunday might have different vendors that I can grab a "show special". I also scored free tickets, so Im not out any money if it sucks again. I will only lose a few hours.... If you need a photographer or DJ, this show is the one to find it. (Though I recommend Ken's Digital, they were there last time). If you are looking for cakes, and caterers, or just about anything else forget it. The Expo at State Fair Expo Center in January was the BEST I have ever been to. Including those times when I was attending as the bridesmaid-support. My second best recommendation was a SMALL show at the Wyndam Airport hotel. It was spring, it was free, and we actually found a great photographer and travel vendor/deals. Good luck to all the Brides on Sunday!

Does anyone know from past experience what time you need to arrive? I know the website says "early registration at 1030,"  but the expo doesn't start until 11.  Do I have to go to early registration, since they already had me confirm my tickets via email??
