When I get married, I will be 22. My fiancée and I have been together for three years and it will be five years when we get married.

Looks like you're new to the boards-- hi!  Fi and I have been together since high school and will celebrate 11 years together tomorrow.  When we get married next year, I'll be 27 and he'll have just turned 30.

I'm doing some mental math... you are 19/20?  Very good decision to have a long engagement!  We are having a 2.5 year engagement and sometimes I get impatient, but it's great to have the time to plan and save.

I'm 33 and getting married this summer. FI is turning 34. We've been engaged for 23 months and celebrated 12 years of dating 3 weeks ago. I second @JCBride2014 on it being a good idea to have a long engagement. If we had tried having a wedding any earlier than we were planning, we'd barely be able to afford serving pizza and soda at our reception!

We had originally considered a date earlier in the year, but wanted to save a little longer. We happened to notice our anniversary would be falling on a Saturday, so we went with that. It wasn't a "must" for us, but we were excited about it. We were engaged for a little over a year.

I will be 27 and FI will be 32 when we get married.  

Our anniversary is on NYD, and it just seemed like too much damn work to have a wedding on a holiday; so we picked a date that our venue was open.  (Which happened to be the wedding off season where I am.)

It can be cute when things work out that way, but we actually are really excited for a different anniversary!  Our dating-versary is Feb 17th and this will be our 11th anniversary of nasty, cold, wet weather.  Fi just said to me last week, "I can't WAIT until our anniversary is in May and we can have nice weather for a change!"

I think that's really cool when it can work out! Our dating anniversary is 2 days after my birthday. We yet again had enough snow this year on my birthday (they declared a state of emergency and everything) that we are SO glad we chose to have a summer wedding! Our date is 7/5, and we are hoping to travel to a different place to watch fireworks every year for our anniversary - much better than getting snowed in every year! lol

Ialmost got married at 23 to a guy I'd been with for 5 years, and well thank goodness I didn't. That has more to do with him being a douche than our age though. He may be older now but I doubt he's grown up any.

DH and I were 27 when we were married.   He proposed when we were together 2 years 4 months and by the time we were married, we were together for nearly 3 years, 5 months.    We're now together for just under 10 years and married for 6.5.
