MOVING DAY

It's finally here. Thank god, it's so stressful.  DH and I just got in a fight over a hair dryer.  Yep on whether or not to take a hair dryer.  Packers and movers will be here in about an hour.    Not a whole lot left for me to do right now  Car is all packed.  Last load of laundry is in the washer.  All the dishes are clean, fridge clean.   Can't really do much of the other cleaning and such until after the get all our junk out of here.

Chef D is going to have one more play date with his best buddy (8 month old english bulldog).  He is really going to miss his little buddy. We hit the road tomorrow morning.

**** note I started this 20 mins ago.  You can tell Chef is a little stressed and confused. He pushed the laptop away and just climbed completely on top me and then started snoring on my chest.  Nothing like a 65lb snuggle.

ME! Hair dryer is coming with us.    It's his fault.  They are now putting us in one of their timeshare units not employee housing.  I asked if they had hair dryers in the units.  He didn't find out.  Dryer coming with us.  His excuse why it's not needed?   He doesn't use it.  

We also had disagree on taking Chef's crate.   Chef has had free rein since he was about 9-10 months old, with the exception of when we travel.  And even then after a day or so our hosts give him free rein.   We are staying in a million dollar condo for a 1-3 weeks.   I want him in the crate when we are not around.  DH disagrees.  I won.   I told him I would rather him say "I told you we didn't need it" then us having to repair something because Chef destroyed something.  And by destroy I mean he is allowed on the sofa and beds at home, but our fabric is made for that, I doubt the villa would be.  Not that he will be allowed on the sofas there anyway (he is good about not going on them at other people's homes).  I can't monitor him if i'm not there.    We will use our own linens for the bed so he will be allowed to sleep with us. 

 He doesn't chew on furniture or stuff like that, but hey new place, mom and dad not around, might get spooked?  Why take the chance?

Good thinking on the hair dryer and crate for Chef D.  I would be the crazy haired woman heading to Walmart if I got there and found out there was no hair dryer.  Heck - I take mine to every hotel every time anyway.

Yay!! Colorado bound!! It's supposed to be decent weather for the next few days - maybe some light snow showers but I don't see any major fronts coming through (says the weather peeps who are wrong at least 50%of the time, mind you . 

As for the crate - good call! Gus only uses his on rare occasion now, too, but I think it makes him feel better when there's a lot of change &/or he's in a new place. He's sending good travel vibes to Chef D and wants to be the first bulldog to welcome y'all to the Centennial state.

My friends works at the NWS and gave me a beta program to check the weather for our route.  Looks like we will have rain/thunderstorms in IL and MO, but after that smooth sailing. Woohoo.

It's amazing how you don't realize how much crap you have until it's time to pack.    They have already taken out a few boxes and it looks like they haven't made a dent.

Isn't it crazy? When FI & I moved into together last summer I was shocked  at all our combined crap. He insisted we only needed a small truck. He was wrong.
