Happy Saturday and we made it to our new town.

We survived the moving out and 2 day drive out here.  I think I'm adjusting to the higher altitude well.  Drinking a ton of water. I find myself taking a few extra breathes here and there, but overall I feel good.     Now I just need to adjust to the time change.  Which is made worse because in the weeks leading up to the move I was getting up between 4:30-5:30am.

Taking it pretty easy today. I think DH is going into work for a little bit tonight.  This job is going to be an adjustment for us. I will working mornings (7-8 until 3) M-F. While DH will be going in around 1-2 until 10pm  Thur-Sun until April.  Then it changes to 10/12 hour days 7 days a week for the summer.  I got use to dinners with him in Indy, it will be strange not having dinner with him again.   Although I've gained weight with him cooking so maybe I can use this as a way to eat better?  Umm?

Have a good Saturday.

  • Glad you made it safely! Also glad to hear that you aren't having too many altitude issues. It took me months to get adjusted when I moved to CO. It didn't help that I was going back to AZ every weekend, though! We may be moving back to CO in the next few months, though we'll probably end up in CA or TX before CO. I really loved my time in CO and hope you do as well!

  • Glad you made it safely!
  • Glad the move was successful!
  • Hooray for a successful move, Lynda!

  • Yay!! Welcome home :) Glad you didn't get blown away with this ridiculous wind we've had the past few days.

Glad you've not been hit too hard with the altitude adjustment. FI still has issues when we spend a period of time above 10k feet. Keep up with the water…lots and lots and lots of water…and I've also heard that foods high in potassium can help.

    How's Chef D doing?

  • Chef D is doing great.  Went down to Aspen Village and he ran around with other dogs.  Doesn't seem to be having any altitude issues.

DH on the other hand is having problems.  I think it's more that his immune system was down in the days leading up to the move.  He was losing his voice when we were in Kansas.  Plus he doesn't drink enough water, never has actually.  He just took something and is sleeping now.

I found the best croissants and baguettes this side of the Atlantic.  I'm glad the place will be about 25 minutes from where we will live.  Close enough to get them, but not too close as to get them too often.

I think I'm  going to like it here (I moved here sight unseen).   Already making plans for a snowshoe tour with a guide here at the club.   Plan on going out and getting ski/snow attire.  Happy to say it's at the end of the season which helps on the wallet.

  • I'm glad it's going well so far! :)

So far it's been great.  I can't wait to get to our new place.  Unfortunately that will not happen until between 3/1-3/12 since we do not have a full load so we have piggy back on another load going west.  I'm really hoping it's sooner than later.  It's hard to get Direct TV and internet installed without the TV's here.
