Funny how you can FEEL the absence of something...

I dropped my wedding and engagement rings off at the jewler this afternoon (about 1 1/2 hours ago) to get them soldered together.  I hadn't originally planned on doing this but they are half eternity bands (diamons only on the front) and they kept twisting at different rates so the diamonds didn't every line up and it annoyed me...

Anyway...  I can FEEL that they aren't there and it is strange.  I've had the engagement ring for 7 months and the wedding ring for almost 1 month but it is amazing how quickly you get used to having it/them on.

Luckily they should have it back to me by Friday at the latest!

  • I know exactly what you mean about the half eternity bands.  Mine kept spinning too and it drove me nuts, so I had them soldered together too.  i had mine done while we were on our HM though, and I wore a simpler travel band, so I didn't notice them gone though.

If I had thought ahead I would have done the same thing, but I didn't think they would spin and twist like they do.  The bands fit properly so I'm not sure why they do it...  Oh well.  Since we bought both rings there there isn't a charge.  I have a right hand ring that I may switch over to help with the feeling, but then I will just feel the "missing' feeling on my right hand because I've worn a ring there for YEARS...  lol

  • I understand that.  One day I forgot to wear them to work (I only wear them to work and if we go out, never at home) and I kept checking my ring finger because I knew there was something wrong/missing.

I have the same kind of bands as you and mine constantly rotate but I didn't want to get them soldered together because I do wear just the wedding band every now and then.

I thought I would want that option as well, but after wearing both rings for awhile I honestly can't think of a situation where I would only wear the band. I waited about a month to make the final decision to see if I would get used to it or not... I haven't. :)

  • Mine are also half-eternity bands and mostly just the engagement ring spins, not the wedding band. I thought I'd wear them separately, but my e-ring is so much heavier than my wedding band, it feels weird to have just the wedding band on my finger.

  • I have a half-eternity band as well.  Mine is channel set though, so it's incredibly comfortable even if it spins.

Mine is channel set too!  It wasn't uncomfortable, I just didn't like how it looked when the diamonds wouldn't be lined up.  I like things neat and tidy...  lol
