Shoes.....can you wear espadrilles with an formal dress?

My girls have dessy dresses--(dessy collection style 2880, but shortened to knee) that are blue. We are getting married outside on grass, so I was hoping to do a wedge for comfort. My mother had the idea of lime green shoes (our colors are blue, green, and ivory); however, the only way to get those are really by doing dyed shoes, all of which are not incredibly practical styles nor can I see people wearing again, unless for a halloween or theme party. I found lime green espadrilles, but my mother thinks these will not be dressy enough with the girls dresses. I am not the best person for style, so I wanted to reach out and see what people might think.  Thanks!

  • Pick a colour and let the girls pick out and wear their own shoes.  Lime green is kind of a weird colour for shoes, so perhaps ivory, nude, gold, silver, black, or some other colour?

Are you paying for these shoes? If not, you really can't ask your bridesmaids to buy lime green shoes.  Agree with doeydo, let your bridesmaids pick their own shoes in a neutral color.

  • I would let them pick out their own shoes in a neutral color. While I personally fucking love lime green sandals, most people don't share that enthusiasm, and your guests are not going to remember the BM's shoes. You probably won't either.
