One of the reasons I roll my eyes whenever I see stuff from Brides on my FB...

Apparently a tiered ceremony and reception is "acceptable" *eye-roll*
I'd get rid of them completely, but every now and then I do find a good idea from them. In 54 days they will be unliked :)

  • Am I wrong? I thought this was actually totally fine. I thought that a "tiered reception" meant inviting people to only part of the reception (like after dinner or what not). Wouldn't this just be the same as having an elopement/JOP wedding and then inviting guests to a celebratory reception afterwards?
  • This is actually OK IF the ceremony is truly intimate. We're talking parents and siblings and their SOs only. You can't invite 60 people to the ceremony and an additional 100 to the reception. That would be rude.
  • @JCBride2014 I read that same article. Maybe some people shouldn't be considering marriage PERIOD if they feel the need to "ease in to it" before telling anyone about it. What's worse is after reading it I'm sure there were plenty of women who turned to their significant others and thought this was a GREAT idea.

  • My FMIL gave me the latest issue, and the real wedding section told of a "multi event" celebration, aka morning ceremony, lunch reception, then black tie ball. Aka GAP in which many guests took a "disco nap" whatever the eff that is. Ugh, Brides.

  • Oh, it's not just the brides. Yesterday a friend on my FB posted this

to the wall of another friend of mine, with a caption stating "I want to do ALL of these things!!"
Neither of these two girls are engaged. And just....no.
