Groom tie opinion please

We just purchased this exact look for the groom and groomsmen. The groomsmen will be wearing the black ties...for FI we bought a black tie and a silver tie because we couldn't decide. Which would you choose for the groom? Should his be a different shade from the men to stand out or does that not matter since everyone clearly knows who the groom is? (we are personally not fans of jackets or ties matching the girls)

I think everyone will clearly know who the groom is, but, honestly, you could go either way on this one. Which look would go best with your dress? Will your jewelry be silver? That might look nice. But the black looks great in the picture.

Black looks very nice in the pic. I think silver will blend in too much.

The groom usually gets a different boutonniere to distinguish him from his groomsmen, but bouts aren't worn without a jacket.

I don't think he needs to be distinguished from the groomsmen, but I like to have the groom slightly different. But I'm not sure that silver would work well with your look. What about having the groom wear a bright white shirt under the vest instead of the gray shirts the groomsmen are wearing?

@cmgragain This is true. We aren't doing flowers since they won't have a jackets. So they won't have that distinction.

@mitch617 The grey shirt is his favorite part lol. But thanks for the suggestions, we will probably stick with the black!

We're in the same boat right now. Guys are in dark gray, he's in light gray, having a hard time finding his tie color. I've found, in general, that light neutrals like silver don't look that gray with light gray suits. Instead of silver, I would opt for white, I think it looks better.
