I am a computer scientist and I work with languages. It is interesting and a lot of fun and I enjoy my work in the academic/research community.
However, with this being said, my days are quite the emotional rollercoaster as my main responsibilities are to write algorithms to process text in the computer.
So, the majority of my days are spent like this:
and then I think I solve a problem to find another problem, so they continue to be like this:
and then there are those moments I'm about to get all:
and
Then I finally find the missing comma in about 10,000,000,000 lines of code and the software finally starts to run and I get all like
and
and
until 2 hours later, when another error appears and the whole cycle starts all over again.
I *ALWAYS* need a glass of wine (or 2) when I sign off at the end of the day, *ALWAYS*
Anyone else in the same boat?
