Help me with accessories!

This is a picture of my dress and i plan on wearing my hair similar to this (pulled back, loose)  I have a veil (simple, 1 tier, elbow length with pearl edging) that i plan to wear for the ceremony only and am trying to figure out if i should go with flowers in my hair after the veil, or a headband of some sort? or a hair comb with pearls, beading, rhinestones??  Help! I am so bad with making decisions and keep going back and forth on what to get!  I am also totally unsure what jewelry I am wearing.  I have my fitting next week so I am going to wear my pearl necklace to it, to see if i like the dress with a necklace

Re: Help me with accessories!

  • I am not a fan of necklaces with wedding dresses.  Yours has a lot of embellishment going on at the top and I always find that necklaces really take away from the beautiful shape of the top of the dress and any embellishment that you may have.

As for your hair, I think you should look into getting a hair comb or even a small fascinator.  I find that real flowers start to wilt quickly and just look not so good after about an hour.

For the rest of your jewelry I always think that simple is best.  I nice pair of stud or small drop earrings and a simple bracelet.  You want to let the dress do the talking not the accessories.

  • When you go for fitting ask the store to "Bling you up." Most stores sell accessories so you can get some ideas of different jewelry ideas. That doesn't mean you have to buy the items from the bridal shop, I know it can be expensive. But at least you will have ideas of what you like or don't like.

Thanks!  was hoping you responded...you always give good accessory advice that i've seen!  :)

I was wondering how flowers would hold  up and have seen a lot of other possibilites on etsy.

I am leaning towards no necklace and would prob just do a small drop earring instead.

  • @jenni1221 - if you did want to go the flower route I would stick with some dendrobium orchids.  They tend to keep their shape longer then other flowers when out of water.  You can also ask your florist to make you some flower bobby pins or what not for your hair trial and then wear your hair up with the flowers for about the length of time (or as close to) as you would for your wedding.  This will give you an idea of how both would hold up.
