Etsy Wedding Dress

I am wondering if anyone has ordered/had a dress made from Etsy? Who did you buy through? What was your experience? We moved back to New Zealand and I am kicking myself for not buying my dress before we moved back. Dresses are sooooo expensive here. I can't find anything under $3000. I've been looking at the Etsy shops and I'm wondering if it's worth it? Cheers.

if you purchased something from davids bridal could they ship to nz?

i would stear clear away from etsy as most of them are china knockoffs.

call up places in nz and tell them your budget and say do you have anything for me? is it worth me making the trip how much do you have for me to try on in my price range

Most of the legit Etsy shops have gowns priced around $1,000. I was initially looking at a dress from Graceloveslace. They are actually based out of Australia. If it seems too good to be true and is based in China, then don't do it!

You could try looking on ebay or preownedweddingdresses.com, tradesy.com, or even oncewed.com. If you go with eBay make sure it's a pre owned dress from a bride. The sellers of those dresses though may be willing to ship to new Zealand.

My SS bought one from a reputable Etsy shop, but it turned out to be a bust since she couldn't try it on first; it looked horrible on her. Had a seamstress try to basically take the whole thing apart and rebuild it as a new dress, and it was still awful.
