What to expect at first fitting?

I have my first fitting on Thursday and I am really unsure of what to expect. Will they just consult with me about what I want - bustle, sewn in cups, etc. and then do the actual alterations at the final fitting or do they do them now and then make additional adjustments later? I'm kind of an idiot about how all of this dress stuff works.

    They will consult, do them, and have you back for another fitting.
    What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

    They'll have you put the dress on with heels and consult with you about what you'd like(hem, tighter at the hips, take put the bust a little, ect) they'll do some pinning then they'll do the alterations have you back to try the dress on again and see how it fits again.
