Chit Chat

Boys are silly.

I was just texting a mutual friend, one of Fi's GM, and he asked me when the wedding is so he can request off of work. I told him the date, and said it's OK if he can't get off of work for the rehearsal because I'm sure he knows how to walk and stand.

Friend asks: "Wait... I'm in the wedding?"
I get panicked and ask Fi across the table.  Fi says "Of course, I asked him a few months ago at [Bar].  You were there!"
I tell Friend: "Yes you are!  Didn't Fi tell you?"
Friend: "Well, Fi was kind of drunk so I didn't think he was serious. :):):) Yay I'm in the wedding!  I guess I need to hang out with him more..."

Silly boys.

  • Silly men!

  • Lmao! Well, girls are silly too. I went out to happy hour with coworkers, and my drunken coworker asked me (in front of her fiancé who was out) to be in her bridal party. She was pretty wasted so I didn't think she would remember. And she called it off twice... So yea. Silly boys and girls lol!

  • FBIL apparently forgot we asked him to be Best Man until he saw it on our website even though the conversation went like this: "Oh hey, we finally made it official. You cool with being Best Man? Yea? Great!"

Yay! Glad you liked it! Not a lot of people know about it, but it is seriously my favorite type of wine. The winery we get ours from ferments the mead in whiskey barrels, so it's like my two favorite things all in one! They also have a raspberry flavor, which is good but just not as good as the whiskey one.

  • @cookiepusher- it was just my coworker and I at some bar by work and for the first time I saw mead and got so excited, and of course had to have some. It was amazing!!! Not to mention 21% alcohol? Awesome!!! @cmgragain- now that you mention it, I've never been but my friend invited me last year! I'm fact, I can't remember why I couldn't go, but I really want to go to a ren fair!

@pinkcow13 I always end up getting drunker than I intend when I drink mead because the ABV is so high! During the fall, I was sipping mead while making dinner (after biting my tongue about some drama that FSIL was trying to start with me). 2 glasses later, I was laying on my kitchen floor and the room was spinning. NOT normal for me. It just drinks so smooth and lovely, then smacks you in the face. haha

  • @cookiepusher- I took like, 3 sipe, and I was already feeling a nice buzz! It is sooo. Smooth! My homework is to buy some so I can have at home! Do they sell it at a regular liquor store?

  • @pinkcow13 I actually haven't seen it in any liquor stores by me. I usually just get it from a company I found at, of all places, a car show. They have a tasting room just outside Peddler's Village, so I just pick up a few bottles every time we go shopping. I know there are a lot of wineries that sell it online, though. I just Googled to see anywhere near me that sells mead, and found a meadery that is planning to open for tours and tastings this summer. Imma be in BIG trouble when this happens. Hmm... Knottie GTG for mead this summer? haha

  • I could totally see my FI and one of his GMs having a situation like this :P
  • DH makes us drive an hour for mead (he buys multiple bottles at a time).  He had it on our honeymoon and fell in love.

  • Mead is fantastic. The liquor store right near my house sells some really good local (Michigan) meads. Yummy yummy.
