I forgot Easter was this Sunday

And FI and I scheduled a meeting with our officiant. Oops.

Re: I forgot Easter was this Sunday

  • Glad I'm not alone. FI's step daughter from his first marriage is coming to visit and there were a million things we had planned, until my mom called last night to confirm it would be 4 of us coming over for Easter. Luckily his step daughter loves my family, but it was funny that my mom thought we scheduled this weekend specifically to see SD for Easter and it was just a coincidence.

  • Can't wait.  I can have chocolate milk again.  Woohoo.

I admit as a non-practicing Catholic it's silly I even give up something for lent.  But it's just habit now.  Maybe the Catholic guilt that never goes away, who knows?  I surely didn't follow the no meat on Fridays rule.

What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.
  • I'm moving on Sunday. We hired a couple of movers, borrowed FI's relative's box truck, and have a few friends/family offer to help. None of us noticed that it was Easter when we were planning. Fortunately, no one is backing out!

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one who forgot! I just had to call and tell my aunt that we were going to be late for our get together. I'm not Christian but I love watching the kids hunt for Easter eggs and I'm going to make baskets for my nephews and niece.
  • I think because it's so late this year and Spring has barely arrived it's off non-practicing-christian's minds.

I only remember because DH is getting ready for his Easter Brunch

  • I'm pretty excited for Easter. We have a lot fun things to do with my daughter. She is looking forward to our Easter egg hunt, dying the eggs and baking cookies. =)

Just because you are a non-practicing Catholic, doesn't mean that you aren't still a Christian.  Celebrate Easter!
