  • That's so sweet, I love it!

I love reading happy stories involving pit bulls. My Lucy is a pittie and I hate the awful things people say about the breed.

  • <3 a good story where neglected/abused dogs are getting their second chance.

We adopted our Ruby last summer - she was my 1 year anniversary gift form my FI. She was homeless, then adopted, then back at the shelter, then adopted, then back at the shelter. She has terrible separation anxiety, was emaciated when we got her...and it all just breaks my heart.

Those people at the SPCA deserve a big hug!
  • Heart warming dog stories make my day.  My half pit is a total sweetheart.  I just got him a bow tie for his collar today :)

DH wants a pittie (or an English bulldog), and I'm totally on-board...as soon as we love out of our apartment and have ROOM for as dog that has energy to expend that energy.

They're such great dogs! It amazes me how smart they are.

We actually live in an apartment and Lucy is fine. But I think we also lucked out because she is insanely lazy.

LOL. Maybe I can ask the shelter to look for 'lazy' pitties for me. That could work. We have the room for a dog, actually, but until recently our hours weren't conducive to being doggie parents.

He also wants cats, and it might have to be one or the other but not both right now.

Cats are much easier. We have 2 cats and dog. Everyone gets along great but if I'm being 100% honest, life would be sooooo much easier with just the 2 dogs.

One of my friends has a pittie and he is the sweetest dog ever. When he gets a new toy or something and you go over there he comes up to you with the toy in his mouth and grumbles at you until you pat his head and tell him his new toy is nice.

When we get home from work or we have company come over, Lucy will fetch a toy and then stand by the door wagging her butt like she has a present for you. She won't even go outside until you take the toy and thank her hahaha

I was riding on the subway and a passenger had brought his pit bull on the train. He was a very well behaved dog and loved the attention he got from the other passengers. The owner said that he liked to take his dog out so he could show people that pit bulls are not a bad breed.
  • My girl pittie is really this absolute ball of love. Everyone is her friend and just wonderful. But with four returns to the shelter in 13 months, she rocks some separation anxiety. She's really named Irene but thinks her name is Baby.

Odin however. People are great unless you look at me the wrong way. Even then, he's only alert vs nasty. Try anything (ahem Mr Carjacker) you get an enraged, deadly silent monster in your face. He's good with cats. He however is a terrier and he hunts rodents gladly. He won't start a dog fight but ugh, he's really ready to stop a nasty dog. Ok that was one dog. Pomeranian was chewing his ankles. But I can pick a grumpy 73 pound dog up off the floor. That was a fun court case. Yes, Your Honor. My violent Pit Bull needed sutures and antibiotics from a vampire ball of hair. No, Your Honor. The vampire ball of hair was not a Pit Bull snack or squeaky toy. I'm not sure, I may have threatened to drop kick the ball of hair if it didn't stop chewing on my dog or me. But I didn't actually do that.
