  • Thanks for your input. I found my wording on a website and am going for a more casual feel so I chose the casual wording. Now I am not sure what to go with haha.

    How about this?
I'd include the street address of your venue, but other than that, it looks nice.
  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the street address is not customary. In fact, I think it's discouraged. If this is a difficult to find place, maybe include directions or additional info on one of the inserts/info cards? Doesn't everyone have the internet/white pages??

Back in the days where everybody knew where the church was, it was usual to put the address on the invitations.  Today's weddings are all over the place, and it doesn't hurt to include a street address, especially if you are in a metropolitan area.
I put the street address on my invitations in 1976, and some family still went to the wrong church!  Good thing I had included them!

    No it is not.

Like CMGr said when there was one church in town and everyone knew where it was then an address really isn't needed.  But now when you have churches on every corner then a street address is pretty much a necessity.

What about older individuals who don't use the internet?  And phone books can be found in the archives because they are very rarely delivered anymore.  Honestly, adding one more line to the invite to include the street address is neither rude, nor wrong, nor hard to do and it would be helpful to your guests to have it right in front of them rather then having to search for it themselves or having to shuffle through additional inserts to find it.

  • I am going to add the street address tonight. Thanks for the advice!

I think you're wrong. No, not everyone has phone books or access to the Internet.  So, no, it doesn't matter if the street address is "customary," because it is now necessary.

An additional insert with driving directions or mass transportation information to the venue is appropriate though, especially if the place is hard to find.

Would be better to start at 4:30 or 5:30, because it's good luck to get married when the clock hands are going UP rather than DOWN.  And you would word that like this:  half after four OR half after five.  Do not use HALF PAST.
