Oh Lawd...Just got Invited to a Buck and Doe

For someone I haven't seen in two years and didn't really have anything more than a working relationship to start with.
Bonus note, she won a $15,000 wedding package at a bridal show. Tickets are $10.  There are so many things I want to say but don't know where to start...

  • Just decline going.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • $15,000 and she's still have a $10/ticket party? You are busy. Real busy.

Just don't go if you don't agree.
  • I couldn't believe it. My jaw dropped...
  • Yuck.  Just decline and don't give it a second thought.

    Decline.
  • A what now? I've lived in Missouri and Georgia and I've never even heard of such a thing.

  • It's a wedding fundraiser that is popular in some places in Canada and some northern parts of the US.

Yes, I'm familiar with a stag and doe, but buck and doe sounds ridiculously redneck-ish (again, coming from someone who's lived in Missouri and Georgia...)

  • yes, very redneck and common in my area but no - we will NOT be having one...you pay admission to this bride and groom and then play games for prized (of course you pay for each game).  There's usually light snacks, but any alcohol or substantial food you pay for as well.

She won photography, flowers, officiant, dress etc....what else do they possibly want money for?!?!

  • I'm sure they've found a way to justify being greedy.

I doubt they think of it as an either/or!

  • It's such a shame you have to wash your hair that day, isn't it?
