Re: I was just told,

  • What a weird compliment!

A couple weeks ago one of my co-workers randomly came up to me and said "You have eye-freckles, I like it" and the walked away. I'm not even sure what that means!

We picked up the rest of our stuff from the venue today, and the person there said the prospective brides that went through this morning asked if the decorations we had out were available as part of the package, so I apparantly have great taste.
shit, you should have had them call you and you can sell it to them.. (unless you want to hold on to it)

  • Well that was a strange compliment. Lol

Last week a co-worker told me that the shirt I was wearing really complimented the purple streaks in my hair.
  • I have a lot of hair, it's thick and full. So this kid told me he loved my hair because it reminded him of a Werewolf. He then started to howl. My sister was so weak from that exchange.

Live fast, die young. Bad Girls do it well. Suki Zuki.

  • I was complimented two weeks ago by a random older lady at the mall for being a "normal sized" woman wearing shorts. Thanks?

Ha. I think I'm going to put some of my cookie plates on Etsy, see how they do.

  • I have been dying my hair an auburn color for years, but it is naturally dark dark brown, almost black. I dyed it back to my natural hair color last week and a guy at work told me it makes me look younger. I'm only 28... The sentiment was nice, but made me wonder how old I was looking in the meanwhile!!

  • Back when Glamour Shots were a fun thing to do, I was getting my picture taken in blouse #2. #1 was hanging on the door, which was open to the hallway where other people were coming and going. Some woman scooped blouse #1 and went off with it, "Why did you hide the prettiest one?" I got it back and no, she did not get to take a picture in it.
  • A patient repeatedly told me that I look like Alicia Keys. I'm white and look nothing like her. Everyone I tell laughs hysterically. It's a lovely compliment, but I took it as grounds for a neurology consult!

  • A man stopped me on the street and told me I had the prettiest brown eyes he'd ever seen in his life.

My eyes are blue. Very blue. Large, so there is plenty of room to see them. In full daylight so the lighting was fine.

The other day FI told me that he liked my nose. I was like "...thanks?" and he said, "I mean its cute."

I also had someone ask if my eyes were real...? I'm guessing he meant the color, but all he said was, "I love your eyes, are they real?"

Someone once told me that I look "sturdy". I'm assuming maybe they meant like a horse?
And the funny thing is I am 5'1" 3/4. I have chicken legs and skinny little wrists and ankles. And I trip on things a lot. I'm the opposite of sturdy.

A super drunk guy asked me that once at a bar. I had been having an in-depth conversation about Welcome To Night Vale with one of my friends right before that, so I told the guy that everything he sees isn't real, but a magical construct. He left.

Someone told me I look like Jordin Sparks.

I don't. Like, not even if you were a little bit blind and really, really drunk.

  • On Sunday my grandmother told me that I was finally starting to look as pretty as my sister. We're identical twins (though admittedly we don't look as similar as most identical twins). She kept talking and basically made it an insult about my weight.

I just need to remind myself that her dementia keeps getting worse and worse.

  • I get told all the time by the seniors I work with that I have great "birthing hips." Thanks??

And people compliment me on my eyes occasionally and say, "I love your _____(insert blue, green, grey) eyes!" My eyes change color and sometimes it is cool to hear what color people think they are that day.

  • My cousin told me that she wished her wristbone stuck out at much as mine. Ummm alrighty then? Guess she thinks it looks "skinny" but I'd rather have her bum which is 4 sizes smaller than mine LOL

  • I have a Robbie Gould (number 9) jersey that I wear to Bears games. At a game last year I was running to the bathroom and a guy in a Cutler jersey (number 6) stopped me and said something like, "I got a 6, you got a 9, let's hook it up!". Totally gross and weird, but probably the funniest pick-up line ever. I high-fived him.

My good friend's mother told her the birthing-hip thing..... when we were 16.  Awesome for her self-esteem.

I know the feel. My mom has called my hips/booty  my "JLo Booty" and "Selena (Quintanilla) booty".
