In need of colors!!! please help!

So I had some picked out but then I found my dress and its champagne color. I don't like the colors I had picked and I have no idea what to go with. We are having an August wedding in 2015 but I want to figure everything out soon as I have my moh living in a different state and will only be back for a short while so we can go dress shopping with all the bridal party before she goes back home. Any advice is welcome! thank you.

Have you not tried this dress on yet? If that's the case, I would wait until you have decided on a dress. However, lots of stuff will go with champagne. Think vintage and romantic...soft greens, pinks, golds. Navy would be nice too.

I'm doing Alfred Sung "Fresh" with my champagne dress.

Two things to keep in mind though:
    1) champagne is a neutral. Nearly everything, aside from maybe fuschia or yellow, will go with it.
    2) I know it would be nice, but all your bridesmaids don't really have to go shopping together. Someone might even come out with a new color next year that you love more than anything you find now.

Pink or coral is always nice with champagne.

My colors were champagne and coral. My dress was ivory but had a champagne sash. I wanted coral dresses for the bridesmaids, but I also wanted them patterned, and we were having a hard time finding that, so we went with beige with ivory polka dots and then we just worked the coral in other ways.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • yes I have tried it on and am going with it. I am in love with it and wouldn't change a thing! We are going with a vintage theme/feel. I am thinking maybe a red?
  • The only reason I want at least two there is because one is tall and skinnier, smaller chest and the other three are short a little heavier and very big chested. I just want to make sure that it will look good on the two body types so two will be going with me. As for the coral, I had brought it up and he said no! so that color has been out for a bit.

Can they each choose their own dress so everyone gets something flattering and you don't have to stress about scheduling one big shopping trip? I think this is more common nowadays than matching dresses. Better pictures and happier bridesmaids when everyone is confident and comfortable in a dress they love.

  • Hmm I haven't thought of that! Thank you! I will have to mention it to them I bet they will be happy about it

  • Blues or purples would go nicely with champagne as well.

Champagne is a neutral and will go well with most colors.

  • I know I am going with a red for sure and I really wanted blue since my ring has blue sapphire in it. But I don't like the way that shade looks next to my dress. But I am thinking of red and like a tiffany blue. I had a few ppl suggest that and I looked it up and really like it, its different.
  • I think a rich deep red would look really nice with champagne. Maybe with black sashes even.
  • I was going to do a tiffany blue and red, but now I have moved more towards a mint green or pale pale aqua and red. Tiffany blue can end up going to teal for me. A pale aqua, mint green with red pops would look fab with a champagne dress

  • I have realized that when I look up tiffany blue I am getting a lot of different shades. those colors would be beautiful!
