La Crosse area photo locations

I'm getting married on May 7th in La Crosse.  We had wanted to take pictures at Pettibone Park and Grandad Bluff.  Well, Pettibone is under water, and the road to the bluff is closed.  There's an alternate route but it will take over 30 minutes roundtrip, so we'll try to make it up there before the ceremony if we have time, but I'm not holding my breath.  I know there are tons of cool areas in La Crosse, anyone have any recommendations?

We were visiting the FILs up near La Crosse last weekend and we were just talking about the road to Grandad Bluff being closed.  That made me sad.  It's one of my fave places!

Would Riverside Park work?  There would be a lot of options there.  It's on the river so you could get the river in the background like you would have at Pettibone, and there's also this really pretty garden area that I think would look nice for pics.

Are you just looking for oudoor locations?  Because the Pearl Ice Cream parlor would be cute, too.  It's an old fashioned soda-type place.

I was definitely thinking about Riverside and the friendship gardens, but I'm not sure if that's flooded now.  I have to go back next week, so I'll be sure to take a look.  I had just assumed that it would be, but it might not be!

I'm open to just about anything now.  The Pearl Ice Cream parlor looks cute, I just looked it up online!  Actually, I bet there are a lot of neat places downtown.

    Thanks for your suggestions :)

    My Pleasure!

I feel like the gardens are far enough away from the river that they wouldn't be flooded, but if it is, there's a good possibility that the water will have receded in the next couple of weeks.  Just not sure what it will look like in the aftermath!

I definitely think you can find places around there and downtown for good picture spots!  Have fun scoping them out :)

Riverside Park is not flooded, yet. It is up to the main sidewalk though, or at least that area. Veterans Memorial Park just outside of West Salem has a pretty bridge that a lot of people take pictures on. Also there are a few cute statues and artistic things around downtown, you just have to find them. Maybe even UW-L or Viterbo would have a nice green space. There is an open area where the farmers market is during the summer that is nice for pictures as well; its between 4th and 5th streets.

The gardens in Riverside are beautiful and a great places to start.  There is also the fountain in Riverside Park which is gorgeous.  If you had enough time to drive Norskedalen is beautiful for photos.

Thanks for the advice!  I'm going over there for some other stuff tomorrow, so hopefully it's not raining so I can check some places out.

Hey guys, I live in La Crosse,
Both parks are no longer flooded. THey were, but now the water has stared to receed.
As for other place, I would say since Granddads is a far trip, the two parks, or french Island. You would get the bluffs in tha background
