Any suggestions on how to smooth darts in the bodice of a wedding dress?

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, I'm having a lot of trouble getting my wedding dress to look right. It is a fitted Maggie Sottero dress that has straps that sit just off my shoulders. The problem is that the darts on the dress are so stiff that it makes my chest look very pointy. The seamstress who did alterations on the straps told me there is nothing she can do without deconstructing the dress. That idea is scary by itself, but with my wedding 3 weeks away it really isn't an option.

Any suggestions on how to smooth the darts?

That's a gorgeous dress. I'm sorry, I don't have any suggestions! Steam? Yeah, no idea.

Is there boning in the front? My seamstress helped to smooth out the front of my gown by removing small pieces of boning. It helped the fabric to lie flat without losing the shape.

Get a second opinion from another tailor that comes highly recommended locally.

There is boning along the sides of the dress. The other issue I'm facing is that the dress is a bit big. The seamstress told me that because of the boning, she can't take it in without the boning poking me.

STIB:

Almost every wedding dress has boning in it and they get taken in all the time. I'm thinking that you need to find another seamstress. Possibly one who specializes in wedding dresses. 

The boning in the front of my dress stuck out where it ended right at my stomach and it made my stomach look like it was sticking out. They were able to get it to lie flat after they steamed it so it wasn't sticking out anymore.
