Fitbit

I know several of you have fitbits and I was wondering what model you have and if you like it? I've been thinking about getting the flex.

Husband has the Zip. It's awesome how it talks to My Fitness Pal!

  • I can't wear the flex at work so I got the One. It is a PITA to remove it from the charger. It took us over an hour to pull it out, and DH finally had to put on rubber gloves to get a good grip to remove it. It's supposed to get easier. I really like it.

I got the vivofit by garmin last week, and I'm liking it!  I'm sure the novelty will wear off though, and I will not always run circles around the living room or march in place while brushing my teeth to get the red "inactivity bar" to go away!! lol

One annoying thing is that it won't pair with my android for whatever reason, said it was too old or something.  So I have to sync it to my SO's iPhone.

ETA: You don't have to charge the vivofit, and it has a display so you can know how you're doing in real time, that's why I chose it.  Oh, and you can pair it with a heart monitor.

  • My old fitbit (One) bit the dust recently; it stopped charging and holding a charge.  My parents got FI the Zip for one of his Christmas gifts and he loves it (I like that it works off of a battery).

I loved syncing mine to My Fitness Pal and EarndIt, and setting my goals.  It's a great tool!

  • I have a Force (which was recalled).  I like the Force better than the Flex because it displays time and I can simply look and see how many steps I've taken.  I like the Force better than the One because the One kept falling out of my pocket/off my belt.

If my Force broke, I'm not sure what I'd get.  I probably would wait for whatever they have coming out next and I'd also look at the Samsung devices that sync with their phones.

  • I have the One. Didn't want anything ugly on my wrist, but it is a little harder to remember to grab the One in the morning. I've never had a problem with the charger. I like it when I remember it!

  • I have a Force, and I chose it cos I needed a new watch, which other models didn't have. I haven't had any skin problems. I like it

  • I have the flex. Loved it for the first few months then started taking it off at night because it bugged me and never put it back on. Maybe after the wedding I'll start wearing it again.

  • I'm new, but just wanted to chime in that I have a Flex and I love it! I wear it all the time (I got it in black and it mostly hides under long sleeves anyway) and it stays charged for about a week. It syncs with My Fitness Pal and Run Keeper if you use those. Basically it's awesome :)
  • I have a One.  I got FI the Force, and I wish I had that one.  I like it because it's got the display so I don't have to sync it to see where I'm at.  I probably will get whatever replacement they put out for the Force whenever that is.  My One still works fine, but the case likes to try and escape all the time and I know I'm going to lose it sooner or later.

  • I have the Flex and also love it. The only thing that annoys me is that the exercise I do (Crossfit, which includes oly/powerlifting, rowing, pull-ups, etc) needs to be entered in manually because there aren't really "steps" involved unless we have a workout that includes running. I bought my mom a Flex for Mother's day, and she does Zumba, so she consistently has about 5k steps more than me on the days she goes. I frequently get "taunts" from her telling me to move more!
  • I have the Flex and I really like it. I wish it would document activities like circuit training and swimming instead of having to manually enter. I will say it has gotten me up off my ass so that is a huge plus in my book!

  • Thanks for all the answers everyone! I think I'll get the flex. I need to make myself walk more.
  • I've had a flex for about a week and a half now. I like the system (online calorie counting, including meals, sleep efficiency), but I do most of my walking at work, where I am either carrying delicate items (steadily) or pushing a cart with said delicate items on it. My flex doesn't count my steps unless I'm swinging my arms, and so I miss a lot of my workout :( A friend of mine has the One which she likes, but she also says she forgets to put it on sometimes. I'm considering seeing if I can exchange my Flex for the One.

Go with what works best for you and good luck!
