Let's just send that shirt back to the 90's where it belongs.

It's very "Love Would Never Do Without You"-esque.

I'm pretty sure that came from the Montgomery Ward juniors department circa 1993.

  • @JCBride2015 Sorry, that gif was more for the poor kid wearing the see through button down. And whoever the fuck designed it.

To be fair, that shirt could very well be from the 90s. My sister is also very thrifty. Which is great, but you know what would be even thriftier than the shirt+see-through shirt? Just the shirt. As ugly as short-sleeve button-downs are, that would've been way more ok.

  • I'm sort of here. Sooooo tired.
Today- cleaned, sprayed the wrought iron, stained and replaced all the slats on an old park bench. Had to saw the rusted screws off of it. Lost my wood screws. Went to find some, and instead found two cute chairs down in the room of requirement.  Decided Kate needs an adorable little seating area in the weird ass sort of hall/ foyer/entry area at her venue. Stripped the upholstery and cleaned the cute chairs. Printed fabric and redid one. Oops, more lace snuck in.  Hahahahaha. Need to finish the other, but it's dark and I am tired. And my hair is a fright, and I'm very painty and gluey.
Time for ice cream and ghost shows.

I really hope your daughter is not actually named Kate, but you call her Kate because: princess. Seriously, she better fall all over herself to thank you. I can barely get my mom to hem my pants!

  • So I picked up DH.  There is a little more to the story.  Neither the bride or the groom said the tux is not going to work.  BIL is the one.   Apparently DH's strip down the pant is a little wider than the other guys.   A strip? Seriously?      The sales girl also told BIL that  DH's black is different.  It's a standard black tux, so I'm curious on that point. We are not talking Father of the Bride here where he tried to cheap out and get a knock off.  It's your basic standard Men's Warehouse black tux.

So as it stands the  bride is going to take the tux tomorrow and make a decision.   In my opinion the jacket is the most important thing.  No one is going to give a rat's as over a damn strip.  But jackets do vary.  So best case he can wear his tux.   Or at least wear his pants and just rent the jacket.  Worse case he has to rent one that matches everyone else.

I may or may not have yelled out DH that he just needs to suck it up and wear whatever his sister and FBIL want him to wear.   Money is not an issue here, it's him just being a baby over stupid pants.

  • But making things is serious fun. This is like Christmas for me. Yay! And she's just busy. Just got a promotion, and one day a week off. I have a plan that everything must be finished by August. That way, there's no stress frantic rush before September.
    In theory.

lyndausvi, that's funny! We had a couple groomsman attire mishaps and the groomsmen were way more upset about it than we were.

    Yay showers and family acceptance!

I got pro pics back and I am ridiculously happy with them. I will make a post later, but FI and I are lol-ing over my nephew's attire. We can't figure it out. My sister has no fashion sense. At the wedding I sort of thought it was a poncho, but now looking at the pics, I think IT'S SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THIS. Wut.

Now don't get me wrong, my sis is great and the kids are adorable and I don't care what anyone wears, let alone a little kid. But this is so something my sister would pick out, it hurts. She and my niece were also going to wear these crazy ass shawl things.
This is hilarious.  Reminds me of this:

@chibiyui is it me who's got to be kidding, or the shirt?  It looks like a little rave shirt to me.  Harmless and cute, but very funny.
These are sweet kids. I do not know from rave shirts.  I want to see a cazy ass shawl thing.
  • It's the taper. The marriage is invalid if the taper is wrong.

When I attend a wedding I barely glance at what GMs wear. I want to see what the bride and BMs wear and judge accordingly if things are hideous. Then I was free booze, free food that is tasty and not cold, and amazing cake.

The bride should not worry over a slightly different strip. Nobody is going to look at the strip. Nobody will say "that wedding was perfect! except for that one GM's pants with the slightly different strip."
    exactly.

If the color is off or the jacket is noticeably different I totally get wanting him to rent a tux.  Again, this is not a money issue for us.  It's more that DH already owns a tux, his damn pants are already tapered like he wants.   It makes sense to wear what he has.

I'm pro bride here.  Whatever she decides we will do.  DH will just have to suck up not having pants altered the way he wants.

  • Good night, all. It's been a long funny day...tapered tux pants and sloth farm reality wedding TV and eggs and recovering chairs and paint and mayonnaise and other weird stuff. Sleep well, everyone!
  • So it is the middle of the night and I'm awake and can't get back to sleep. I went to bed kind of early with a headache and now that the headache is gone sleep will not come back. I was kind of half thinking about taking one of FI's sleeping pills from last year but I really don't want to risk it. Blah!
  • Boo JD I hope you got to sleep!

The moving truck took all of our stuff away yesterday.  I'm sitting on our soon to be former guest bed that we are giving away.  In the morning I will run over to my best GA friend's house to drop some stuff off and say good-bye and let DS see his best (only) friend one last time.  Then we load up the car and head out.  I'm perfectly happy to be leaving GA but the thing that is getting to me is that DS won't even remember this girl. I have a few pictures of them together and I'll tell him about her someday, but he won't remember.
Please tell me you are moving to TN??? I need a knottie in my area that I can hang out with IRL. The TN board is so depressing.
Sorry, VA.  Land of million military bases, at least that's what it seems like.
Are you moving to virginia beach or norfolk? I use to live there, both of my parents are involved with the military. My dad is a colonel and my mom is a poublic relations officer
