I have been in pretty much constant pain for about 8 years now. I have 3 herniated discs that are torn and extruded along with spinal stenosis. . . . all sorts of fun stuff. I have had about a dozen steroid injections over the years, scans and tests galore, and a discectomy in 2009.
Since last Friday I have been in extra excrutiating pain and have been having random awful stabbing pains in my toes as well as a cold burning feeling on my shin. Last saturday I coughed while walking around and almost passed out from the pain, no bueno.
I am now awaiting a call back from a doctor at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. He specializes in non-surgical treatments, but I'm sure has great connections in the event I do need surgery (let's hope not).
I'm excited and nervous!
