Most Canadian Roadtrip Ever. (AW-ish)

So FI and I got home last night from a whirlwind tour of the Maritimes. We were in five provinces in a week and a half.
I get that people on this site are scattered about the world, and the vast majority would never think of heading to most of the places we visited (a few I wish we'd skipped). But here's where I think I can sway you to go to at least one spot; WE SAW A MOOSE.

Yep, a tonne of hooves, antlers and leaf-eating cuteness.

It was in Cape Breton, on a 3h hike, and he was mayyyybe six feet from us. And twenty minutes later, after my heart slowed back down to it's regular pace, I was grinning the rest of the hike (which is not exactly how I usually respond to hiking)

So worth the trip!! Made the sunburns and extremely concerning bugbites worth it :)

  • My parents took me to the Maritimes when I was in high school and I loved it! It's so beautiful on the east coast. The first 2 stops on my honeymoon cruise were Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Red Bay, Labrador - both were very nice. We saw icebergs and a whale in Labrador, and they had Newfoundland dogs to greet us when we got off the ship in Corner Brook. Now I've been to all 10 provinces!

  • I really want to go to the Maritimes. I've hit almost every other Province/Territory, but haven't made it past Quebec.

  • I saw a moose in Cape Breton too! On the Cabot Trail. I have a video of it somewhere.

That's where we were!! So incredibly beautiful. Except, on the last 300km of the route, there was so much fog we couldn't see more than 10ft in front of it. He's a very good driver, but I kept playing Farm Heroes Saga on my phone to keep myself from looking through the windshield and promptly losing my shit.
