Suggestions for Groomsmen Attire for Summer Wedding - Please help!

My fiancé and I are getting married next summer (5:30pm) in Mexico at a hotel terrace.  I am told my fiancé has a very nice wedding dress with a modern cut.  I have am having suit made (indigo with touch of violet).  I have read so many different articles and yet I still feel I lack any true direction.  These are my concerns

1. I don't know what to have my guys where given what my fiancé and I are wearing?  And the color scheme?

2. I assume we are considered "formal" but don't know how what to have my guests wear?

Any guidance would be very helpful.  I never knew that a wedding had some many moving parts and such a high level complexity.  Thank you.

1. Your groomsmen would probably look great in black or dark gray suits. If you want to get a little matchy, maybe pocket squares or ties that are indigo or violet.

2. Guests can wear whatever they want. If the hotel has a dress code, you should spread that by word of mouth.

The groomsmen wear the same level of formality as the groom.  If the groom wears a suit, they wear suits, too.  If the groom wears a tuxedo, so do the groomsmen. 
It would be very rude to tell your guests what they should wear.

You're so brave!  5:30 summer outdoor wedding in Mexico!!  ;-)
I grew up in San Antonio (about three hours from the Mexican border) and that would have been HOT!  Hopefully your suit is linen or seersucker.  :-)

But, yeah, unless your venue has a strict dress code, your guests will probably have to dress for comfort.  Luckily, this will probably mean women will wear nice sundresses or something similarly loose and flowing.  The men will fit right in, even if they are in nice shorts and Bahama shirts.  My guess is most will gravitate toward khakis and a short-sleeve dress shirt.

I'm sure it will all be lovely!
