No ushers

We are having a very small wedding....a maid and matron of honor, and a best man.  No ushers.  60 or less guests, 85% of which will be my family.  What is the etiquette for having people seated for the ceremony in this case?   Thanks!

Re: No ushers

  • You can have a "Reserved" sign for the first row or two if you want, just make sure your VIPs know to sit there.

  • It depends.  At my sister's first wedding, her clueless friends piled into the front rows that were for close family members.  Grandma had to stand.  An usher would have been helpful.

  • Make sure you have a chair for every butt. :)

  • We didn't have ushers.  Had a little over 100 non-wedding party guests at the ceremony.  We asked the venue to mark the first two rows as reserved for family and had no problems with guest seating.

  • We didn't have ushers either. We just put little "Reserved" signs on the ends of the first row. Our wedding had 40-ish guests, a BM, and a MOH.

    Our processional went like this:

MOG and FOG walked in together.

MOB was escorted up the aisle by our BM.

    MOH walked up by herself.

I walked in with my dad.
  • No one in my circle would ever sit in the first row if they weren't immediate family.
