Re: Just general life rants or annoyances & Emmy Talk

  • From what I read before, I believe they are on book 3. Not sure though. Can't Google in case I stumble on more spoilers. I swear I'll scratch my eyes out if that happens again.
Yes, they more or less finished the third book in the most recent season.
Yup. And book four sucked, so I hope they do a combo book 4/book 5 for the next season.

I hope it's not a spoiler, but book 4 and book 5 take place chronologically at the same time, but book 4 only has about half the POV and barely any of my favourite characters were POV for book 4.
Yes, they're doing a combo season. There were a number of articles today about some difficulties getting permission to film a certain scene from A Dance with Dragons.

Thanks.. I thought I was relatively up to date. Book 4 is fairly boring in comparison to Book 3 IMO. But I"m still a fan and trucking through.
  • Lynda, I definitely would have started my diet AFTER. What restaruants in NY does he have on his list??

It changes so often, I don't even pay attention any more. I learned early on not to get my hopes up because where he wants to eat and where we end up are 2 different things. If I had my way we would go to Le Bernardin (dh worked there and still has contacts. Plus one of DH got a job there for one of his cooks).

We are taking the red eye on Wednesday so we get in Thurs.   Thurs is the RD, Friday free, Sat wedding, we leave Sunday night.    It doesn't really matter since we have no time.  DH has to pick up the tux, SIL needs help with last minute stuff and there about 50 friends he has to see.  Seriously word gets out he is in town and his phone blows up.  We have to hit the bars or they stop by his mom's.  It's actually exhausting.

I think Friday we are going to Don Pepe's in Ozone park.   MIL grew up there and DH was born in that area.  It brings back memories for DH. He talks about Don's since I met him and he wants to take me there.   I guess it has real character?  I just go with the flow.

  • I would totally sneak off to Le Bernardin. Mmmmm. I'm so hungry now.
  • I want to so bad.   It just not going to happen this trip.   Too much going on.

    One can dream though.

  • Next time you're in the area for longer, I'd gladly take you gallavanting around Chinatown in search of the best cheap dumplings.

I would love to. Just once I would love to hit up NYC without family and friends. Sadly it's unlikely it will happen with them being there and us not visiting often.

  • I guess I'm just going to have to kidnap you the next time you're up here!

I have strong feelings on that! Joe's Shanghai!

My bff in NJ is convinced I only visit her so I have an excuse for soup dumplings!

I prefer Prosperity Dumpling - 5 pork & chive dumplings for a dollar!!
