Number 1 reason not to have a potluck at your wedding

I have food poisoning from one I just went to. Thank goodness the simultaneous vomiting and diarrhea held off until I got home. I was a bridesmaid and I don't think my dress would have enjoyed that very much. It was a breakfast potluck the day of because it was a DW in the middle of nowhere. 

I hate potlucks so much.

EDIT: I posted this from the toilet.

SECOND EDIT: The number 2 reason not to have a potluck at your wedding, it's rude as hell.

    It was like homemade baked goods and eggs and pancakes. Nothing I really thought would make me sick. Should have had the cereal!

    FI hasn't been feeling too hot, and I think maybe FFIL. I haven't talked to too many people about it. I want to say it was one of the baked muffins I ate, everything else I ate is pretty improbable. I am very picky during potlucks. If I know your cooking style and kitchen, or if it is something prepacked, I will eat it.

    What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests.  Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

    Hope you feel better Larry! I wonder if anyone else got sick and the idea of a pot luck wedding makes me a little squeamish. These things work great for small dinners or gatherings but a whole wedding...something is bound to go off at some point if the food is not kept fresh.

    I hope you feel better! I got food poisoning a couple of years ago, and the doctor said you usually just have to wait it out. But, she did give me something to help with stomach pain, so if you're having that too, you might want to go see the doctor for some drugs.

    When I started reading that, I was expecting a number 2 joke.  I am clearly very immature :)
