Mandalay Bay Vista Suite Reception

Question: For those who have had or planning on having their reception at the Mandalay Bay, Vista suite. I have my own food/beverages coming in. But the only concern I have....is it enough space for about 65 guests and if yes should I rent chairs and cocktail tables?. (How many?)  Also, any suggestions how to best set up the room would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks! :)

Re: Mandalay Bay Vista Suite Reception

  • You definitely want high tops and seats at a minimum; you're going to be pretty densely packed with 65 in a Vista.  It has been done though.  Current Events or RSVP Rentals are the two most commonly mentioned vendors for that type of thing; they have experience getting in and out of Mandalay.

  • Not sure why I can't find it now but I know krisstyle12 did a Vista in-suite, I was trying to find her review for you since the link on my page to it is now broken thanks to TK's re-working of the forum software.  In any case, I think she said she had 40 guests and rented three high tops and a banquet table from RSVP, along with some seating, and everything worked great.  I should probably try to pay closer attention in reviews as to how many guests there were and how many tables/chairs were rented, or if they thought they had too may/too little.  I'll start doing that in the future.

  • ty for looking! :)
  • I obviously can't say yet how it worked out because I haven't had the party yet but we are expecting around 60 people and I have Masterpiece catering the event.  Based on what I read on this board, along with talking with Chris, I decided to rent 3 high-top tables and 10-15 folding chairs from RSVP.  Chris has done a lot of events in the Vista Suites and he thought that would be enough.  Too many extra tables and chairs is really going to start cramping things when you have that many guests.  Sure, you want to have SOME seating a place for them to place plates and glasses but there needs to be a balance.

I am currently in contract and have the same plan for the Vista Suite at MB!  I have been informed that Masterpiece for the catering is amazing.  So far they have been WONDERFUL!  Best of luck :)

  • I had 30 people and rented 4 cocktail tables with 4 bar stools each. That with the dining table and bar top seats was perfect. RSVP were awesome to work with!
